interesting. I never used a summoned creature and rarely used my crystal skull guy. probably would have made some spots easier if I did.

I kept on forgetting about my crystal skull until I was about 2/3rds through the game then remembered it when I started getting into the boss fights in the fortresses. after that I started putting points into the demo (and just started putting points into ghost) and haven't looked back.

Mindread might be helpful in finding what's up with that person...and others.
That character is one of the quest highlights in the expansion BTW.

Well, I think I finished the original game Not sure if I want to keep playing it, anyone know how long the expansion is? I have a huge backlog and witcher 2 is only getting closer. I really need to get onto new vegas, but the story in divinity is pretty good.

The expansion is about 25% of the original game.

I keep on trying to get into the expansion, but I'm getting nowhere fast. perhaps having a lengthy wait between finishing the original campaign and the expansion coming out would have been a good thing.

The expansion basically starts out where you get quest after quest. It's a bit overwhelming for awhile. It might be best to just choose one of the quests you have and follow it through.
I basically kept picking up quests till I got to the tree (you'll know it when you see it). Then just picked a quest and tried following through on it to completion or as far as I could go. I widdled down the quests by the time I got to the tree one.
I thought the quests in the expansion were a lot more fun than what was in the original game even though the expansion is just confined to the city. There's a lot of variety and some neat stories to boot.

I finished the main campaign yesterday and really enjoyed it. Took me 60 hours and I went with an almost pure Ranger build. Explosive arrows are fantastic, bordering on overpowered I think. The last fight was pretty tough and lengthy, but my creature and potions helped immensely. Two nice design choices that I liked were not having to aim precisely with the bow to hit and I could fall from any distance with no damage. I'll try to finish up the expansion before DA2 hits. edit: lol, what I thought was the end of the main game was the ending of the expansion. I didn't realize it followed the main part so seamlessly. cool.

Well I finished the game and was.... and I would guess I put 70-80 hours into it. I didn't complete every quest but I did every major item.

I don't see how they get that amount of hours unless going painfully slow. I didn't have anything left to do at the end except a couple leftover quests.

Is the expansion only available via download?
I have not steamed before so what do I do if that is the route I have to take?
Does the expansion start with the end of the original game?

I think the expansion comes bundled with the first game. So you would have to buy "The Dragon Knight Saga" edition to get it.
Steam has both the original game and the bundle (surpisingly the bundle is $10 cheaper). But its still pretty pricey at $40 if you just want the expansion. You probably want to wait until a sale.
And the expansion starts right where the original game left off. In fact there's no pause between the final cut sequence of the first game and the intro of the expansion.

Okay...well I'm not going to spend $40 when I already have the base game. I guess the bad guys wins. so how much is 19.95 € in American money?

I think the expansion comes bundled with the first game. So you would have to buy "The Dragon Knight Saga" edition to get it. Both exist - the bundle that comes with both and the second game standalone for those who already purchased the first game. One option - I downloaded my copy from GamersGate and it worked just fine with my retail copy of Ego Draconis.

If I add that to a completed game where the last save is just before the final battle (unless the game performs some kind of save) I guess I will just have to re-fight the final battle again....no big deal.

been playing this for the past few days and absolutely loving it(i have DKS version),still on the first part (Ego Draconis),and i am in Orobas Fjords looking at the reviews for the game and it seems that because of Ego Draconis apparently having a lot of bugs the game scores very average, which is a shame, because with the DKS version i have not really seen any problems(music skipped a beat while i was on Sentinel Island),the graphics look fine although i can see jaggies(360 version here),especially on the faces of people when you are talking to them, but the environments/maps are quite large
been doing a hell of a lot of side quests, and i am currently about lvl 25 i think, and i know i have quite a bit to go,as well as the expansion
this for me kinda reminds me of Nier, not in gameplay but how it wasn't really bigged up but one of my most loved titles of the year
