Arkane is the one who did Arx Fatalis, and we all know what Bethesda has done. Could this mean we'll see an Arx Fatalis 2 (if they own the rights)? or maybe they'll get to work on an Elder Scrolls game, if not a main title in the series a spin off?

could be that we'll see some of arx's gameplay mechanics integrated into es4. a sequel would be good but and would let them release a new rpg without the usual long wait between. of course, we still haven't got es4 yet (or details for that matter) so who knows what their desired release schedule for is now.

I don't understand why they never made Arx Fatalis 2. I loved the first one. It and Divine Divinity both came out around the same time and I got both. I think Arx was the first dungeon only rpg I really enjoyed. Very difficult to believe it has been 7 years since it came out.

Yeah, I've actually been playing Fantasy Kick Simulator 2006, aka Dark Messiah thanks to the steam sale. As much as I have to laugh at the kick physics, if you restrain yourself from kicking so much, it's actually a really cool game.
I could see Dishonored turning out really, really well if they combine an updated first person melee gameplay + firearms with the more open ended mission aspects they describe.

I got the issue of GI in the mail today and their take on this makes it seem like the twisted offspring of deus ex and thief with a hint of bioshock's world design thrown in for good measure. looking forward to this now, more so than bioshock infinite.

I'm really looking forward to Infinite, moreso than this, if only because I play a lot for story and thus the more cinematic and character oriented nature of Infinite appeals to me.
But I also love this game on the other end of the spectrum, more game, and still a good amount of story.

Heh, I'm just the opposite. I'm looking forward to Dishonoured because it seems more about freedom with gameplay systems and not about linear scripted story events.

Yeah, but either way, both are looking like great games to enjoy, and Infinite only narrowly comes out ahead in terms of want factor to me.
I'm just glad FPS games are starting to see more interesting things done with this style of game.

I'm actually looking forward to both equally. now if Bioshock Infinite was a proper sequel to BS1 & 2 (continuing the same storyline instead of being set elsewhere) then Dishonored would have a leg up, but Infinite feels like it is going to be fresh enough to warrant my excitement.

http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/25941/Bethesda-Softworks-Announces-Dishonored-Cast/Susan Sarandon, an Academy Award winner and five-time nominee, will make her videogame debut as the former aristocrat, Granny Rags – an intriguing old blind woman now deranged after years of street life. Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe-winner Brad Dourif takes on the role of the inventor Piero, creator of the iconic mask worn by Corvo as well as a wealth of gadgets Corvo can use. Emmy winner and Hollywood-icon Carrie Fisher can be heard broadcasting government propaganda over loudspeakers throughout the city of Dunwall, where the game is set.
The all-star cast continues with John Slattery (“Mad Men,” “The Adjustment Bureau”) who takes on the role of Admiral Havelock, a Loyalist who helps Corvo on his quest, as well as Michael Madsen who brings his videogame voiceover experience to the role of Daud, a mysterious assassin. Chloë Grace Moretz (“Kick-Ass,” “Hugo”) portrays Young Lady Emily, the Empress’ daughter who is kidnapped after her mother’s death while Lena Headey joins the cast as Calista, Emily’s caretaker. In addition to the star-studded voice cast, Composer Daniel Licht (“Dexter”) lends his musical talents to create the game’s original score.

all the previews I've seen have been good, and it's gone gold. pre-ordered off of Green Man Gaming for $48, just over a week to go! of course it also has to have the same release date as XCOM. maybe XCOm will be delayed a week

maybe on a second playthrough. They're giving us all kinds of fun ways to kill people, so who am I to not use them? I wonder how long it will take someone figure out a way to unlock all of the bone charms for access in a single playthrough. there are 45 available, but only 12 randomly spawn per game.

Just pre ordered this for Steam from green man gaming, their current 25% off coupon works on it, which is nice since this coupon allows me to get both this and XCOM next week.

I pre-ordered on Sunday and only got the 20% figuring they might not have a code for a while, but sure enough right as the old one expired the 25% off one popped up (luckily I waited on Hitman so I got 25% off on that one). thankfully that's only a few bucks difference; I suppose if I bugged them they might give me that in credit but I've saved enough through them (just over $104 this fall) that I'm more than happy to give them a break.

Steam's pre-load is up. GMG hasn't started giving out keys yet, but on the plus side I'll have XCOM to pass the time with if they don't get the keys out early.

I'm a little worried that the version that GMG has is the European edition, which doesn't technically come out until Friday. Again, not a huge deal, because of XCOM, but still.

Yep, no worries. I have XCOM, and Dishonored seems like a nice break from strategic alien defense.
I plan to play it very stealth oriented, so lots of taking it easy in the shadows.

Completed my no-kill run on the PC (well, I accidentally killed a civilian - need to re-run that level for the achievement) and have it reviewed. (review goes live midnight tomorrow) I'm sorry to say it's not as good as I thought it would be... It's SO much better than that!!Rest assured folks - this title is sitting high in contention for game of the year. Now, off to beat the game a second time on the 360 for my review on that platform - a 'kill em all run.
