Since I'm currently playing DMC on the PS2 and loving it, I'm really looking forward to this demo. Can't wait to download it.

Can't wait.  I definitely plan on picking this game up and probably on PS3, which would be the first time I picked up a PS3 version over a 360 one.

From what I hear the PS3 version will install to the hard drive at first, so the loading times will be reduced throughout the game.

I've actually heard that after the 25 minute install there are no loading times at all.

Yeah, it's about the loading times.  I keep reading that the PS3 is the superior version.  The PS3 even has achievements, if you care for that sort of thing, though you obviously can't wave your virtual dick around by adding to your score.

If I get it, and not sure I want it, it would be the PS3 version.  Since I have tried all the previous versions and not gotten past the first hour, I would have to hear it is light years better before I would get it though.  My number one reason for always quitting was the same-got stuck trying to figure out where to go next and never able to do so.  I got tired of just roaming around trying every door in an area, doubling back and never figuring out where to go next.  My absolute biggest peeve in gaming.  Hopefully, they fix that in this one.

Hah I read that over at QT3.  But what really amazed me was how they managed to turn the ability to have a game with no load times into "25 minute install? WTF? I''m gonna buy it for the 360 fucking Sony and their fucking 25 minute install faggots"

Well it wasn't quite like that but that's a pretty good summary I think.

its whatever you prefer...1 long loading screen or TONS of smaller loading screens.

unreal touranment 3 for the PS3 had an option to install it to the HDD to save on loading times.  if you could, wouldnt you want to install some portion of the games you play the most to cut down on loading screens?

It should always be a choice, especially if the install times are that long.

You can still sit down upon buying and opening the game and pop it in and play.  Then as you progress if you start to find the many load times annoying, just have it install, go get some lunch, and play when you get back.  You waste less time with the install if you just set it to install and do something else, than have to wait all those little pauses during loads.

Uncharted having no load times except the first really helped with that game.  I figure for a game that's even more action based, no loads is a good thing.

If I get it I would defiantly gamefly the PS3 version.   Personally I thought DMC 2 and 3 were very disappointing.  So unless the demo blows me away I will probably pass altogether.

Is there a source for the delay other than Kotaku claiming Activision has commented it will be delayed on PS3?

(considering Activision isn't the publisher, I find this less than credible)

because I need to temper my expectations for excitement / disappointment this afternoon.  icon_neutral

Calvin lives in a mystical timezone where it's been out for weeks.  As for the Feb 1st PS3 thing-  I thought the store only updated on Thursdays, and the 1st is a Friday, so maybe that means it will actually be out the 31st or PS3'ers will be stuck until the 6th.

Technically, it did come out last night...on the JP store biggrin

I grabbed it this morning and played it.  It's a super-sexy next-gen version of Devil May Cry.  Runs flawlessly, there's Dualshock 3 support, and the graphics are beautiful.  The Devil Bringer is a very fun addition to combat.

My favorite combo?  Hold R1+hold away from the enemy and hit triangle to slash your enemy up into the air.  Hit the circle button to grab them while in the air, and throw them to the ground.  Then hold R1+hold towards the enemy and hit triangle to down-slash 'em.  It looks awesome.

There are two parts of the demo, and I just completed the non-timed one against the boss.  Tough boss, thankfully he kept smashing houses and they yielded health orbs for me biggrin

Using the Devil Bringer to launch yourself towards his head and air-combo his ass was tons of fun.  And then the ability to SMACK him at two points of the fight with the Devil Bringer was really cool, as well.

I toyed with this one a bit and it's definitely DMC!

Not sure if I'll buy it at anywhere near full price, but I definitely plan on playing through it.

I looked under "Demos," "Newest Demos," "Action Demos," and "Show All," and while I found many DMC4 trailers and wallpapers, I can't find the demo anywhere.  Can somebody point me in the right direction?

I found it under New Arrivals and Demos.

I've never played DMC before, but I have played similar games.  I can see where no loading would be great.  You'd have to force yourself to stop playing.

I had a lot of fun with the demo.  Looking forward to it.
