I didn't know whether to post here or in the Console DE3:HE thread, but this one had the more recent posts. Ceekay, your prediction about a 2012 date is correct - in the latest episode of 'Sent u a message' on the 360 insider, the 2 hosts confirmed that Squenix-Eidos pushed it back to 2012 due to concerns in the quality of recently released games. Hmm....wonder if Final Fantasy XIII had anything to do with that. slywink They didn't give an exact date, but apparently Squenix's fiscal 2012 actually starts in April 2011? I wondered about the correctness of that last comment - certainly possible to structure a fiscal like that, but still quite unusual. My gut tells me it's gettingpushed back a ways into calendar 2012.

I think I heard it was to be released in april which would suit the fiscal 2012 year thingie. I'll be a very sad pandy, if its pushed back to 2012 calendar year :-(

Yeah, the last delay was only Fiscal 2012. I haven't seen anything else mentioned anywhre yet, but if it's calendar year 2012 I'm sure we will be hearing about it quickly.

RPS has some footage of the starter area, with 3 different ways to going through the level

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/03/19/deux-ex-human-revolution-multi-path-trailer/

wow - I've just gone from super excited to cautiously optimistic. The glowing "USE ME" things, the takedown hero cams, the gigantic holes / places where you can crawl to the very very subpar and not very interesting graphics leaves me wondering, if the gameplay is good enough to outweigh what looks like really annoying stuff.

Also, the "Multi-path" thing... I have to try out the first one again, but it seems to be it wasnt so blatantly obvious that there was multiple ways of doing things, but rather that the size of the levels made it possible to do it many many MANY ways...

okay, that went from eagerly-anticipated-day-one-purchase, to a wait and see, and perhaps get at bargain bin game after watching the video.

Latest video showing off 3 ways to get through an area. I don't like the graphics. But it is the console version being demo'd. I hope that doesn't mean the lvls will be small again like the 2nd game.

I'll buy this game but the more i see of it the more I'm tempted to replay the first one. The best one. The most fun one.

One thing - I noticed the lack of glowing ladders in this one? It looks lightyears better than the video I linked to. there's still some glowing objects but not as bad as the first video.

Another thing I didn't like, was the fact that you had to choose your approach style before?? Or was that added to the video to look cool?

And does anyone know if it will be just a set of linked areas you have to "complete" and then move on, without the option to go back? Deus Ex was a world - where you could do a LOT of things..so far, all I've seen could have been any other game like COD or another combat shooter.

Ugh. A bonus mission and additional weapons in the CE? Cue the "regular price isn't enough for the complete game" debate. Also, one of those weapons is called the UR-DED? And can I please get a precise comparative valuation of the difference between "collectable" and "highly collectable".

about the only thing that interests me in that CE is the bonus mission, but I'm betting the cameo' is probably a poster on the wall   icon_lol

can't knock them for UR-DED though, engineers love coming up with stuff like that.

Wont an Automatic Unlocking Device make things somewhat easier?  No need to worry about developing that skill for you character.

I hate those CE DVDs with making of movies, they never actually give anything interesting about the process. Instead, it's just the same thing as an advertising video usually, not worth the money.

I wish they would actually put interesting stuff, including spoilers material, so players could really get neat info about the process they had to go through to make the game.

I seem to recall that the last game CE that had a good "making of" video was Oblivion. IIRC, they visited with the various folks and showed what they did step by step, including visiting the QA guy who sat on a couch playing all day.
