Darkwatch is out this week? What's the vibe?

I love the setting/concept (Old West, vampires, sign me up!), but I have the gut feeling that the actual gameplay will be lacking.  The age-old "great idea, bad implementation" problem.  I am going to check out reviews and early gamer impressions with interest and keep my fingers crossed.  

Is anyone planning on picking it up this week?

The commercial is kind of cool.  Although it's another FPS, it looks unique-enough.

If they priced it at $20 I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

At $30, I'd trade something in.

At $40 or above, I'll wait.

I thought it would use the light gun. I don't really like FPS on consoles but maybe this will change my mind. I do like the setting, old west from hell.

I just came here to post the same question... Got some b-day money burnin a hole and what I've seen of the game I like. I'm really interested in the multi play as Halo2 is starting to loose some of its gleam....

Edit: Just noticed that IGN gave it a 7.9, goin to read the review now.

Played the demo and thought it was ok.  FPS is my preferred genre, but with so many great options I think I'll wait on this one.  Also, the demo didn't support widescreen but that may be rectified in the final version.

There have actually been two demos in various OXM's and I thought they were rather enjoyable in a mindless shooter kind of way.  The coolest thing by far was the rapid firing of the pistol.  Liked that.

Thanks, Ron.  Sounds like a decent B-list title.  I'm fairly lousy with console FPS controls, but I love the setting for this game.  Good to hear they did right by the music, too.

That is one thing I forgot to add in the review.  The game does have a slight 'stickyness' to the aiming so your reticle sticks to the target to a very small degree.  It helps if you are FPS Console Gimpy.

If anyone thats getting this for XBOX and has a HDTV or an X2VGA could confirm that it supports 480p would be much appriciated. I've got my copy but wont be opening it until someone can confirm/deny that it works in 480p as 480i dont work at all on my X2VGA. If you look at the features on Microsofts site it 480p is checked as a feature, but on the back of the actual box it is not checked....

I rented this, and it is unfortunately only 480i... no progressive.

And no 16:9 widescreen either.

Ick.

Yep found that out yesterday grrr.. However I also found out that those with a modded xbxox can hex edit the xbe file and change one byte from 20 -> 40 and viola 480p is enabled.  I ended up getting a 26" Toshiba HDTV today and darkwatch doesn't look to shabby at all on it even though its only 480p. It even looks good when I have the tv set to fill the screen (tv is widescreen) even though the doesn't support it. Now I'm ready for 360 HiDef gaming
