I think you'll be surprised, it's highly optimized for consoles, which also means it can run on any PC that has come out since those consoles released.

I need to check if the demo finished downloading.  I tsrated grabbing it and then went to play Rift and promptly forgot about it.  from the about section:

Crysis 2 looks like a mixed bag for the PC and needs some real work in order to get up to the standard I would expect from a developer from Crytek. Thankfully these problems can be fixed, assuming Crytek kicks into high gear and makes it happen. Will they?

I know I will probably get this, but it's close to release and I'm not feeling any excitement at all.  I'm more excited for the Sims Medieval, which is due out the same day.

you can hear one of Zimmer's tracks over at Joystiq.com...definitely sounds like some of his other work, but that's by no means a bad thing.

Been playing the multiplayer, and it's good, although you never really see anyone because they all run around cloaked. But, the stuff you need to see cloaked players is all locked away behind experience unlocks, not to mention it makes it so you're playing in that weird vision mode all the time.

Too bad they aren't putting in co-op in this one. If they're aping Halo, they should have at least put in its best feature.

Let's just say while playing the MP, it looked as good as Crysis 1 on High, but on the basic settings. They really did a lot of work on optimization and using all the techniques people have learned to make games look great without brute force processing everything.

They also make great use of various post processing and full screen effects that are the hallmark of Crysis and Killzone.

Well I have started preload when I got this morning, at least I think that is whats it is doing, 5am here and I am hungover from my scotch again so the world is a bit fuzzy

Played a couple of hours in Single player and I really like this game.  I've played the previous Crysis games and never really utilized the suit powers because I felt the controls were a little hard to use but they've really done a good job of incorporating them into normal actions now.  I find the battles to be really fun and I am thinking of different ways of taking down enemies.

- Running the game at very high level at 1080P and it looks gorgeous.
- The sound is awesome.  The gun sounds and the suit voice is great and my room rumbles every time I shoot or turn on a power.
- Read reviews where the first couple of hours weren't that great but I've enjoyed them.  I am playing on the hard level though.
- I am playing it with a controller on the PC and it feels great.  I play in my Living room on my 58' plasma and I do have a keyboard and mouse that I can use but it's easier with the controller.
- Tried a couple of games online and you need the mouse otherwise  you will get owned.
- Met some new enemies other than the soldiers and it changes how I approach the situation.
- Overall I'm really impressed.

Native 5760x1200 support is awesome and it looks amazing(a slight HUD adjustment would help though).  Sadly even on "low" it is making my computer cry.  Both cards were running clocked out and I was still averaging only 20-30fps most of the time.  Hopefully driver support helps some and people work out some tweaks to back off the graphics a bit, I would hate to go back to a single screen on this one.

PC download is $52 and I had a $15 credit from another purchase.  they're also giving the same credit with Crysis 2, so I'm tempted to use that for Shogun 2 (which also has a $15 credit  )

that's why I keep an eye out for their credits, if you play it right you can get a nice chain going.  I'm not sure what I got the $15 credit I used for Crysis 2 from, but now I can scoop up a couple of other games and still end with $15 in credit.  I also have $20 in credit coming from Portal 2, which I pre-ordered with the $15 I got from Sims Medieval, so if I hold off buying any more games before then I'll have a nice $35 to put towards something.

I read on a forum post that there are console commands for SLI enablement along with 4 core cpus.  You may want to try that and see if it helps.

wow, great first impression:  my melee attack stopped working during the opening.  exited and resumed the game, had to sit through the opening scene again (no way to skip it) and then find out that melee isn't working again.  looked it up and it seems to be an issue. 

[edit] restarting the game fixed that, but I'm getting the flickering graphics when I'm outside.  I think I'll wait for them to properly fix that before playing more.
