Crimson Skies vs. Ace Combat 4

Hello everyone.
I have Ace Combat 4. I unwrapped it and played it once, but then got really involved in something else and never went back. I keep reading about how great Crimson Skies is, and though I'm tempted I feel like if the two are at all similar I can't justify investing in the new one while poor AC4 collects dust. For the record, I don't have Xbox Live.
So can anyone who's played both discuss the topic a bit? Thanks.

AC4 is a great game. It's not quite a flight sim, as it focuses on action, and has a very well-told story behind it. I got completely involved in it and went back to play it a few times, and still do.
Crimson Skies is straight-up action and it does it very well. Time period is a major difference, as this gives the feeling of the slower planes while AC4 has the big birds.
Personally, I'd go for AC4. I like Crimson Skies alot, but AC4 just has the extra edge with its combination of story and gameplay.

I enjoyed the single-player aspects of AC4 much more than CS.
CS is a GREAT Live game, but if you don't have that I wouldn't bother. It's nice to look at, and has great controls, but I didn't find it nearly as much fun. It's more close-combat than the fighter jets of AC4. I agree that CS is more of a straight-up action game.
I suggest you finish AC4. You already own it! If you ever get Live invest is CS. Everybody else has it and still plays it. But only online as far as I can tell.

Definitely just finish AC4.
I bought, beat, and traded in Crimson Skies in a fairly short period of time.
If I still had a PS2, AC4 would still get play-time even though I've probably been through the whole game like 10 times.
