Champions of Norrath ending

I finished BGDA2 not long ago, and thought the ending was terrible.  A few days ago, I finished Champions of Norrath, and its ending makes BGDA2's look like FFX.  After hacking my way through tons of monsters, dying ,many times, and facing the (surprisingly easy) final boss, all I get is a one minute voiceover?

Sounds about right. All they need to do is set up the game for the sequel, and they're all set.

It's a sad but true fact (in my experience anyway) about gaming - if there's a sequel in the works, the ending tends to suffer greatly.

Unfortunately, the stories in both were so poor, I couldn't care less what happens in the next game.  They're action-RPGs, so they don't have to have involved stories, but something other than "There's a bad guy.  Kill him." would be nice.  I'm really hoping Jade Empire is the start of a new era for action-RPGs.
