saw this on Blues, looks like it could be fun:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwZdXRPeYrc

it's billed as an RTS set in a voxel world.  you build castles, and then defend them against enemies.

main site.

that looks cool and they also seem to read through their youtube comments.  if it can make it out of the beta with some of the stuff we have grown to like about MC and the like, then they could have a good little hit on their hands.

Looks pretty interesting so far.  Hopefully they can build on some fun and satisfying gameplay around the building and defending the castle aspects.

Heh, anyone else think this is what Dwarf Fortress 3D should look like? I mean, the DF guy could make multiple millions of he'd just invest in a decent graphics and interface like this.

Kickstarter!  they've already hit their goal; it took about 5 hours.

And they continue to do well.  With 2 weeks left they are at $445k, so over 550% funded and climbing.  Good for them.  This is a case of a small crew going into Kickstarter with a solid prototype/demo/alpha build that they had been working on for a couple years, so I'm glad to see them rewarded for their hard work.

They also just put out a 12 minute video showing some more basic building, early combat and stuff.

This looks really impressive. And with how Minecraft turned out in the end, I think this is well worth putting some money towards.

Their Kickstarter only has 14 hours left, but at 845% funded I think they'll be fine.  slywink

They have also announced a new reward for all backers as well as a very cool and unique way in which they will put all the credits into the game.  These kinds of things make me happy to support this small dev team.  smile

Very cool, but I'll wait until it's done at this point since it has plenty of backing

I backed this one (only the 2nd one I've ever backed).  It just looked great and for $15, it's not that big of a deal.

I'd forgotten all about this game.  looks to be almost feature complete at this point.

I had tried out a couple early versions from the Kickstarter and the controls were so unintuitive that I kind of gave up on it until it was a bit more complete.  I may have to go back and give it another try soon.

I saw that there was a patch this morning but unless it was huge I'm going to refute that claim.  The previous version barely worked.

Ok, I tested the new patch.  They have indeed made some good progress, unfortunately, the current build feels like where it should have been about 6 months ago.  Interface is at-least usable now but still clunky.  The AI gets stumped by simple pathing problems and favors climbing over short walls instead of using doors.  Sometimes miners will just stop working for no reason.

Feedback on the steam forums isn't very good - it seems like little or no progress has been made over the last year or so. Sad, because this looks utterly brilliant.
