I found either Domination or Ground War the easiest for the Shotgun. Just make sure it's an enclosed area near a point cause the damage range on it drops off quick.

I got a few in Hardcore TDM but it was much harder unless you got a surprise drop on someone. Mine was on the CM901 rifle but I would guess they would be close.

btw, where is everyone?  the players from GT dropped off almost immediately this time.  despite the game steadily improving with mini-patches unlike previous ones.

In-laws are still in town for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Gaming has been halted completely and won't pick up again until later in the week.  And by then I will be REALLY ready to kill stuff.

I just can't keep up.  Exams and in-laws just keep wreaking havoc on my gaming time.  While exams aren't going anywhere, at least the in-laws are leaving this afternoon so I can get back to my regular life.  The worst part hasn't even been my lack of gaming, but how goddamn messy these people are.  Dear lord I am amazed at how many dirty dishes, glasses, silverware, and countertops are associated with something as simple as pouring a cup of coffee.  My poor kitchen, despite my best efforts, looks like we have a fraternity visiting with us.  She'll be cleaned with loving care once everyone leaves and stops fucking it up.  

I at least rocked out chili-garlic shrimp over cheddar grits with crispy bacon lardons, fresh scallions, and a finishing drizzle of the chili-garlic-bacon oil from the pan for their going-away dinner last night, so my kitchen still turns out decent food despite the neverending mess.

Between the holidays, Assassin's Creed, and the Star Wars beta, I haven't played any COD in awhile.

Ok, not completely true. My step-brother and I did our annual Black Friday "Drink Beer and Play Games While the Wives/Girlfriends/Others Go Away" Day. We had some people with us this year that barely play console shooters so we couldn't take them into the public matches, and the private matches started becoming boring after awhile. So we switched over to the Survival mode, and I am surprised at how much I liked it. I never cared for the zombie mode, but I can see myself spending several hours in this. If anyone ever wants to give it a shot let me know.

I'll get more time for video games this week, so send me an invite if you see me on.

Thursday night's all-GT session was a perfect example of how much more fun the game can be when playing on a full team of friends.  From the moment our team of six assembled until the last match prior to breaking up for the night we were close to being undefeated (may have lost one in there).  It of course all went to shit when people started logging off for the night, but it was definitely a blast while it lasted.

Glad to see "lag fixes" listed numerous times.  Although it's not like I've had any time to play lately.  Fuck the end-of-semester push.  I'm running out of steam and motivation quickly, and o-chem was kind enough to cram three exams into the last week of class (one in-class, one take-home, and the sit-down final).  As we've only had three exams throughout the rest of the semester, an A is far from being guaranteed at this point.  Weeeeeeee.   

At least I only need a 15 on my anatomy/physiology final. Yes, that's out of 100.   

When this is all finished you guys can expect a drunken play session to rival all prior drunken play sessions.  My last final is December 16th.  O-chem.  And then time for drinkyface.....I mean shootyface.

Nice to hear they are "balancing" the Type 95. Everytime I used it I felt dirty, and everytime I got killed by it I felt violated. Hope they buff up the M16 and give it some love

If they nerf the type 95 and don't buff the m16 there will be zero point in using a burst weapon, imo.

It's already hard enough in these tiny maps. I wonder why I'm spending a class slot on a burst weapon build pretty often. I still have the hope that they will do something about the M16 as it became my favorite weapon in BO and the Famas in MW2.

the m16 would be fine imo if the type 95 didn't simply outclass it.  Up close the m16 kills in one burst if all three shots hit, at range it kills in 2 bursts (4 rounds).  The type 95 takes 5 rounds at range (still two bursts, but requires a bit more accuracy).  What makes the type 95 ridiculous is the 2 round kill up close combined with the burst rof.

L86 needs a buff imo.  It's really underpowered with the exception of when you use the laser recoil combo.  They should fix the grip+thermal recoil issue and probably raise the damage a tad to require one less round for a kill..

From what I'm hearing the t95 nerf will be to increase spread at close range, so its not so damn steady when you're spamming from the hip. Even without steady aim its pretty accurate with hip fire.

Yesterday afternoon and evening was a lot of fun.  The lag adjustments presumably in the most recent patch still doesn't seem to fix the issue, especially since a good majority of my showdowns were seriously one-sided (throughout most of the night I could barely get a bullet off against RideMyBolognyPony and lost 99% of our meetings), but playing with the group makes a big difference.  At one point we had 9 or so and managed to get everyone into the same lobby, allowing us to play with and against each other.  At times it would get a little frustrating having my ass handed to me over and over by friends, but the comments, exchanges, and battles were a blast. 

It truly makes a difference when playing in random lobbies versus with a team of friends.  I had forgotten, we also played a number of rounds of domination with a full squad and everyone worked well together in carrying my lame ass around the battlefield.   

I didn't make any money selling anything though, not even my delicious recipes.

why is it so fucking hard for people to realize that shooting down airdrops and helicopters is required?  Watching an escort airdrop come in and I'm the only one shooting at it makes me want to rip my hair out.  There is never an excuse for an escort airdrop to actually drop it's crates, it's a horrible killstreak as long as the other team knows you can actually shoot the damn thing.

Getting very tired of being on the losing team because everyone is getting raped from the air and I keep getting shot because I'm the only one actually shooting rockets up at them or putting down sam turrets.

Good example is if you watch the friday night fights on cod:Elite.  It's hilarious that pretty much every game from all three weeks has been won as soon as a team gets a chopper up in the air.  So far not one chopper has been shot down, hell one of the guys threw a concussion grenade at the helicopter...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 sold 8.9 million copies in the US during its first month on sale, according to analyst firm Cowen & Company.

Modern Warfare 3's tally apparently only included 100,000 copies of the Wii version. Even fewer customers bought the Windows version, though the NPD data cited doesn't take into account Steam purchases.

First DLC in January

Infinity Ward has revealed that the first Modern Warfare 3 DLC will launch on January 24, 2012.

t'll be available to Call of Duty Elite members on Xbox Live first.

Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling said in a Call of Duty Elite video that Modern Warfare 3 will offer more varied DLC than previous series entries, and confirmed that IW, Sledgehammer and Raven are all working on updates for the game.

 "The way we're doing downloadable content this year is unlike we've never done before," he said. "Not only in how you can get it - in content drops or choose for the collection - but also the type of content you're getting. We're doing more than just maps. We're going to do Spec Ops missions and a variety of things that players have never seen before.

"That's the great thing about having three developers that are contributing to the season of content. You have Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer and Raven all pitching in. The full season of content for Modern Warfare 3 kicks off for Elite subscribers on January 24 on Xbox Live."

We asked Activision if PS3 and PC Elite subscribers will have to wait an extra month for access to the content, as has previously been the case with Call of Duty DLC releases following an Xbox 360 exclusivity deal announced at E3 2010. A spokesperson sent us the following response:

"Today we informed the Call of Duty Elite Premium community that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Elite Content Season will officially kick off on January 24 for Xbox users. We'll have more details about the entire 2012 MW3 Content Season in early January, so stay tuned for updates."
