Do we know exactly how the ballistic knife works? How much ammo, how easy it is to kill someone, etc? I assume you still have to aim the thing.

And lets hope the stupid ballistic knife is one shot. And scavenger doesn't get you more knives. If it does, a knife shouldn't be one hit one kill. Speculation at this point, but I can already see this being super abused if its one hit one kill.

Tell us that after the next CoD tanks.  Everyone already knows that this one's from Treyarch, so the Infinity Ward nonsense isn't bound to affect this one.  Heck, I'm wondering whether there will even be a Call of Duty for next year.

But if Black Ops outsells MW2, that would be the first time a Treyarch Call of Duty did so. This would most likely indicate that Treyarch effectively took Infinity Ward's place, and another developer might become responsible for the off-year CoD game. They've already talked about doing an adventure game.

Yeah, it will show that Treyarch has replaced IW, but it's not the same as having both IW and Treyarch switching off every year.  So whether or not they need IW really comes down to whether or not they have a hit CoD game next year when it would be IW's turn.

Why would CoD 2011 suck? The formula is already in place, it only has to be imitated. Any half-decent developer could have made Modern Warfare 2 if they used MW as the blueprint. And despite being developed by IW the single-player campaign was mediocre to a lot of people, including myself. I believe Activision, will all their money, can hire a talented developer to give CoD fans something to do on the off-year, as Treyarch did in the past.

yeah, and if you sub in cod 2 and 3 for mw2 and cod??? ridah's statement makes just as much sense.  the new dev (to cod at least) will have to prove themselves able to handle the franchise, just like treyarch did.  it probably means the first game from the new guys will be lacking in some ways, nevermind when comparing it to the main dev. 

it could be fun to see guess at other devs taking the reigns.  imagine what a dev could do with the license.  personally, i would love to see a good eastern european dev take the game and give it a good spin.

From an MP perspective, W@W is the best COD there has been as a complete package. Map design, balance, lack of glitches and fine tuning of interface and stat tracking.

From a story perspective COD4 is still the best COD.

Only IW fanboys think the series is in trouble without IW.

IMO, Treyarch>IW.

this is what I'm worried about with the next non-Treyarch/IW CoD.  MW2 was definitely a step down, and Treyarch's SP hasn't been all that hot (maybe now that they're out of WW2 it'll get better).  they could totally fuck up the MP portion for all I care- I'm worried the next dev they have do it will either skip out on what used to be a great SP experience altogether or jump the shark with it worse than they did in MW2.

of course maybe the new dev will be more compliant towards Kotick and give him his CoD MMO.

Been talking with Calvin over email today and can't get over how excited we are for this game to land. Here I am @37 and feel like I did when I was WAY younger and Christmas was right around the corner.
I have an exam to write on Nov 5th so the time spent between then and now will allow me to study and feel rewarded when the 9th hits!

Hark, according to the Wiki the Blackbird killstreak is like a UAV that can't be shot down, plus it "shows their direction" on the minimap.  I assume that means which way they're facing, which sounds pretty huge.
