sadly most of your complaints happen in any game.  My complaints of RC cars and lag though will hopefully be gone in BF3

Was playing with a random the other day who other than saying the same thing OVER AND OVER again (why does everyone use Galils? Use different weapons. I paid 100 dollars for this game. etc) he said something pretty lucid: This game is great, but the players suck. 

He pretty much nailed it.

I believe I was leveraging the Amazon pre-order credits at the time to pay about $40~45 for BlOps on release, but the possibility of a US purchaser dropping $100 on the game is well within the realm of possibility.

For my group, when you factor how much entertainment it provides, that is still a bargain.
I can spend that in a weekend seeing movies for 4-6 hrs of entertainment.
That same amount on cod provides at least 168 hrs of entertainment, and I don't even play single player.

I know that I'm over the 3-day mark, which means that I'm just over $1 an hour for MP alone.

There were some issues the other day that made my game not connect to the servers, so I fired up SP.  Good lord, the missions are horrible!  At one point, I died during a timed section.  I respawned with the timer at 4:00.  I was dead at 3:55, having barely moved.

My nephews were looking @ my player card and were amazed that I had used every weapon?  People don't realize how fun it can be to try contrary tactics.

I could have sworn that on that FAL rampage I did some kick ass shooting, and yet when I watched the clip in theater mode, my aim looked like a drunken hobo using the gun as an electric guitar.

The advent of the theater has nothing to do with the issue other than put a finer head on it....it's always been there.  Battlefield games lag too and have issues with their hit detection.  BF3 isn't going to be a panacea and we'll all be complaining about the same things when it comes out too.  

People lambaste BLOPS' hit detection and lag as some unholy plague, but it was the same with MW2 and W@W and COD4 and BF:BC2 and BF:BC1...

It was always an issue of lag.
Bugs the crap out of me more than commando-marathon-tacknife or 3xfrag/martyrdom/sonic boom ever did in the previous games.

Since the last patch we have had a lot more issues. The last few nights the party break-ups have been pretty regular. We've had a few lobbies totally crash too. It's definitely not a great environment to play an FPS in.

BC1 and BC2 do not have the same types of hit detection issues at all.  They have server side hit detection on dedicated servers.  If you don't get a hit on that it's because you missed.

On COD the hit detection is on the client side and then sent to the server where it is told whether you hit or not.  The end result is you often get killed when it looked like they missed you completely and you kill people by missing them completely on replays.

Lag in BF is a constant, you have to account for it and lead targets accordingly.  I can fight that.  COD you don't adjust for lag, you still aim exactly at someone and you get a hit.  The problem is when you are both aiming at each other, that's when the better connection ALWAYS wins.  The faster connection tells the server you are dead before the slower connection even registers their hits with the server.
