Haven't seen this metioned, but a new piece of equipment in Black Ops has got me giddy.
The Decoy grenade. Once thrown, it simulates the sound of gunfire, and also lights up the opposing forces minimap.

Seems like a waste of ordinance to me. The number of times this would be useful vs the number of times an actual grenade is needed makes it clear in my mind which one is more useful.

Could be a good diversion (better than smoke bomb) in S&D. Throw it at one of the bomb sites then rush the other

If it is equipment, it wouldn't replace the frag/sticky grenades. Edit: Just looked at the wiki. There will be 3 slots you can fill going into a match: Equipment: Camera Spike · C4 · Tactical Insertion · Jammer · Motion Sensor · Claymore Tactical: Willy Pete · Nova Gas · Flashbang · Concussion · Decoy Lethal: Frag · Semtex · Tomahawk So it seems it would be possible to head into a match with Decoys, Frags, and Claymores.

having claymores AND grenades seems a bit much to me I think the decoy will be good, I would take it even if it took the grenade slot.

On the plus side, looks Scavanger will not refill equipment, only frag/tactical grenades.
Which makes sense when you factor in the Camera Spike/Jammer/Motion Sensor.

If scavenger refills frag grenades I might be out. Can you imagine how stupid domination mode would be? Each flag would end up being a big pile of shiny new grenades to throw.

Doesn't it do that in MW2?

Doesn't it do that in MW2? I know I used scavenger to refill claymores all the time, but for some reason I thought frags were excluded. Fuzzy memories I guess.

All those people you fragged and claymored to death remember! I just got finished playing and tested this out to make sure - primary grenades do refill with scavenger in MW2. We complained about a lot of things in MW2, but I don't recall us complaining about that.

New XBOX Live video of multi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnhCAokb4d8Highlights (some of which I think have been mentioned): -shotgun is a primary weapon again -"hacker" perk (like in Bioshock 2) -models are chosen by your perk 1 slot -map has a grid now so you can call out quadrants -killstreaks don't add to your streak -"dive to cover" causes an aim penalty (not clear if this is separate from simply going prone)

-shotgun is a primary weapon again - Meh?-"hacker" perk (like in Bioshock 2) - cool I guess.-models are chosen by your perk 1 slot - Like that - now I will know why someone doesn't simply die when I shoot once or twice-map has a grid now so you can call out quadrants - very cool-killstreaks don't add to your streak - Someone like me needs all the help they can get to move up the ladder.-"dive to cover" causes an aim penalty (not clear if this is separate from simply going prone) - glad there is a recovery time associated with it. I quickly grew tired and frustrated with MW2, and thought that I would have the willpower to avoid getting caught up in the pre-launch hysteria for Black Ops. I am happy to report that I was wrong.

Just the retarded-ness of IWNet really killed it. I'm definitely in on this one since it has dedicated servers (which I have one preordered).

I hosted a server for every COD there was until they removed them. I have to go through a company now rather than using my own hardware ( http://www.gameservers.com/blackops/), but it will at least be better than p2p hosting.

This is probably going to be my FPS until...well, could be the last one really as it has everything I've wanted in a FPS.
Bots for MP practice/map exploration, loved this in Perfect Dark/Goldeneye. Unlocks/weapons not based on level grinding. More customization, not to the point of my ultimate dream of a RPG/FPS in a "realistic" setting (re: Borderlands), but enough to make it interesting. Zombie Mode, which has now had the benefit of fleshed out (so to speak). Lot's of interesting pre-set game modes for online play (MW2 really only had a few with slightly different variations)
If the gameplay/maps are as good as W@W, MW2 will be forever replaced.
Same page as you. Finally a call of duty game with bots ("combat training" mode) I went from being on the fence to making it a day 1 purchase now. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/112/1125489p1.html

A lot of interesting tidbits in the GAF thread. Rumor is that there are no grips for LMGs. There are 50 ranks per level, but 15 prestige levels. No death streaks.
Something we were talking about today - the rumor around second chance (same as last stand) is that the pro version allows any teammate to revive you. If true, that could get annoying.

i'll be bummed if that's true about the LMG's. once i got that unlocked in mw2, that was pretty much the standard loadout for me. well, until i got ranked up enough to have that and the scope at the same time.
