to be unveiled May 24th.  I loved CoD4 on the PC and never even bothered to get the 360 version, and I'm definitely looking forward to this one on the PC as well.  I'm hoping they come up with some way to store your MP info on an official server- I uninstalled CoD4 without thinking about it and later found out that it wiped out all of my progress when I went to play again months later

I used to think that too.  I'm still not nearly as good at CoD with a 360 controller as I am with a mouse and keyboard.  However, XBOX Live makes it too easy and fun to play with friends online.  If I play on PC, 90% of the time I'll be playing alone, and that's just not as good.  I'd rather suck and laugh about it with other folks while I'm playing.

If I had a solid PC-playing group of friends and we had a simple voice-chat system that worked as well, I'd probably stick with PC too.  But I don't.

It seems much harder to coordinate MP gaming on PC than Xbox Live.  Everyone has their own preference of Steam, XFire, etc.  It's way too much hassle compared to turning on my Xbox, checking what others are playing and jumping in.  Did PC version have a party system?  I'm going console for MW2 regardless.  I'll probably go PC for more finicky FPS like ArmA 2.

Yeah, I play BF: BC on PS3 and its damn hard at times to aim. But I suppose its just a matter of training and getting used to it.

for some reason Gamestop and Amazon both list the PC version of this as $59.99, same as the 360 and PS3 version.  usually it's 10 bucks less than the console versions

I pre-ordered it awhile ago for the 360. One thing I would like to see in FPS games is dynamic maps.
Having a new map each time you play would definitely raise the bar to gameplay and it would also help prevent spawn camping.

IIRC Soldier of Fortune 2 had a random map generator, but I cannot recall if that extended to MP.

LOL .. nah it is just that here where I live COD4 sells for around 90 bucks still and I am a SP only player and given the length of it it seemed that it was to much moola for to little time, if the price ever drops I plan on getting it as I have COD1 & COD2 .

You can get crappy NVGs for $200.  So these are a novelty item. They might work but they can't be good.

I'm fairly certain that this will not work out nearly as well as you think it will.  Make sure you take video and have your next of kin post it.

It will be the top YouTube video of all time!  Though I recommend he instead pretend to be Sam Fischer, and see if he can do the splits in a doorway while he's wearing the goggles (that might be painful, and perhaps eliminate the chance of fatherhood, but probably not fatal  ).

Most of my "Collector's Edition" purchases of the years have felt like a complete waste of money. The only thing I cherish is my Fallout 3 bobblehead (even though I can't play the dang game at all due to motion sickness issues). The only CE that felt properly priced was an $8.88 Auto Assault CE w/ headset (bargain bin priced since the MMO was at that time certainly destined for an Epic Fail on the market).

I really liked Cod4 and Cod5 and still play them sometimes. I've been waiting for MW2, it's gonna be wonderful game but... it's not gonna be as revolutionary as cod4 i think. When i'm watching these trailers they seem just like cod4 with a bit better graphic, some new perks/weapons... and nothing more? Maybe except new singel player and special ops, but Call of Duty series is bought mainly for multiplayer.

I think the whole era change was what made CoD4 feel so fresh, but the fact that CoD3 was such a trainwreck  also helped, kinda like having filet mignon after eating a Waffle House steak.

A few very interesting things in that video:
1. Looks like you can use the riot shield very strategically
2. Throwing knives!
3. Liquidy looking blood spatter on your view when you get hit
4. Change to the way you see who you just killed + some new class or identification system

Yes i saw those too, except for 5 point. It concerns probably consoles most, because i never saw in PC cod4/5 that host would drop his connection (never even saw the server that is not dedicated).
I'm planning to buy the game (or just cd-key alone) because i spent many hours with my friends on previous cods but after Activision announced increased price i don't know if it's worth it. We will see soon
