And my wife doesn't get back from Korea until Sunday night around 8pm.  I've been left alone for three weeks, so that means I have one more hookers-and-blow weekend left.  Plus my last final is tomorrow.  I see no reason why that couldn't translate to heavy drinking and MW3.  I'll keep an eye out for you.

Legal trouble could be brewing for Activision after documents reveal that developer Infinity Ward is supposed to have the exclusive rights to making a Call Of Duty game with a near future setting.

so as IW are still owned by Activision,does that mean Activision are effectively suing themselves?(if it happened)

Agreed with Hark here, IW pissed me off and I played less mw3 than any cod I've played so far.

I'd still rather go play Blops over mw3, but I feel if some real changes aren't made both studios will lose me as a customer.

Skip for me.  When MW3 was released, I was getting destroyed by level 50s on release day.  Unless they change the matchmaking to group by level rather than ping, I'm out.

I'm sure you've heard it a million times, but level doesn't mean shit in COD.  A level 50 means nothing, it's not skill level.  It's time played.  Matching people only with people that play the same amount of time is stupid.

Now if they HAD a skill system, maybe that would be cool.  (oh wait, Halo did and people whined about it too because everyone assumed if they played enough they could reach max level)

The first mode that players will probably want to try is "Bootcamp," which lets newcomers play a typical 6v6 COD match. However, there's a twist--three opponents on each team are actually bots. By offering AI opponents online, "we can dial up and dial down the difficulty," making a player's first steps into the online world of Call of Duty less intimidating. Even better: "bots don't yell at you if you're new to the game and they won't call you names."

You'll be able to enjoy a taste of Black Ops' extensive progression system through Bootcamp as well. You'll earn full regular progression XP in Bootcamp--but only until level 10. Afterwards, Treyarch kicks you out because you should be "good enough" to face the general Call of Duty community.

If you aren't entirely ready to take your training braces off, you may want to join "Objective." This second mode allows you to play all the objective-based modes offered in Black Ops 2, minus capture-the-flag. As with Bootcamp, you'll be playing with three bots on each team. Unlike Bootcamp, however, you'll be able to earn XP even after level 10--however, all XP gained will be halved.

Finally, if you just want to have fun against the AI, there's "Bot Stomp" mode. This pits a team of six humans against six AI. "It's pretty fun to kick the bot's asses," Vonderhaar explained. "As a new player, having some success is important." As expected, players won't earn any XP in this mode--so don't expect to grind your way through this mode.

I'm tentatively back in.  I suppose I should turn in my "hardcore" gamer card, but with two young kids I no longer have the kind of time or patience necessary to jump straight into the deep end with those who have far more free time.

I'm in for this, solely because it is Treyarch. They've shown more responsiveness to the things that have increasingly bothered me in the last couple of Infinity Ward games.

Of course if it turns out to not be up my alley anymore, I'll trade it back in for a good value and go back to playing BF3

dammit, was going to hold out but Zombies mode sounds infinitely more interesting this time around.

'Tranzit' adds scale to the original gametype, and acts as the primary mode for zombie players. Rather than be stuck in one location, players are free to explore a "big, giant, expansive world." Calling it "significantly bigger than anything [Treyarch has] ever created," Lamia promises players (playing solo or up to four-players co-op) can traverse on foot or via the bus featured in the zombies world premiere trailer above.

"Because it's open and because there are multiple locations in this world where you can play and where the infestation is, there's different strategies about how you can approach it," he adds. "It's a much bigger world with much more going on." Moving through the world in the bus has tactical advantages, such as speed; however, it isolates players and can become very difficult to escape from. Going it on foot "into the fog" – which players can do by themselves or as part of the group – also has its perks, but puts players in the middle of danger.

To aid in their survival, players can collection pieces of items from throughout the world, putting them together to create "buildables"; including weapons, tools and things to help open new areas of the world.

I watched about 4 hours of gameplay streamed.  Seems like COD for sure, but I didn't see anything that made me not want to play in that time. (other than 'pros' never having anything to take down air streaks with...)

that'd probably be the fact that Treyarch is making it, while IW seems to have gone off the deep end.
