So I'm relaxing and watching my wife play Need for Speed: Most Wanted and I suddenly notice a few new buildings and some new billboards - Burgerking.  Anyone else notice this, or was it there all along and I just wasn't passenger enough to see it?

I've only played the demo so far, and I can't really say that I've had time to look at the billboards.  I blame the cops.

On a related note, Burger King seems to be popping up in a lot of video games recently. Or more just the old ESPN 2k5 line... but still.

You know I just noticed this as well.  I saw Cingular and Axe Body Spray mostly.  Now I just noticed the BK's

Did you guys not play NFS:Underground 2?  Most Wanted seems like Cable Access compared to the metric shit ton of product placement that was NFS:U2.

bought it, played it, beat it, never noticed a billboard.. yet another failed attempt by the advertisers to get my attention.

There's a lot of real world advertisements in Most Wanted, but they're actually mixed in pretty well with the scenery so they tend to not be too obvious. There's Castrol gas stations, there's advertisements for Tuner Transformation on the Speed Channel, there's all kinds of stuff.

There's even a challenge event called the Burger King challenge.

But with the exception of the challenge, it's all mixed into the world really well and doesn't stick out like advertising does in some other games.

i've noticed the ads, but i don't think they're prominent enough to be bothersome by any means.  in addition to the ones already mentioned, there are also quite a few AutoZone signs around.  as long as they keep it in the background, i don't really mind.

It took me awhile to figure out the Target ads in the PGR2 downloadable tracks were ads and not bulls-eye's.

TML and I would play online and always shout it out.  "I'm passing Target!"  As long as the ads fit the product and are obtrusive I don't mind them at all.  Like I said in another thread, I actually downloaded the real board ads when I played the NHL and FIFA series on the PC.

I always liked using Toys R Us in the New York tracks on Forza Motorsport as a landmark.

Good times biggrin
