Building a new PC

Well it started out that way. I spent 3-5 weeks on New Egg putting together combos, mixing deals, adding up rebates and discounts,to the point where it was consuming my life like a MMO. The final result was this.

Yeah, I ended up with a pre-built unit anyway. I figured for $40.00 more than the best, cheapest PC I could put together and free shipping I just bit the bullet. What do you guys think about my purchase?

For the most part it looks great. The only part that would make me wary is the Cyberpower branded power supply. No way of knowing who makes those PSU's or how good/bad it might be.

you may find that building that to spec directly on Cyberpower's website may give you a better price, especially if their "myspace" or "twitter" coupons still work.

This came out to $858 before shipping, and has a slightly better processor, and liquid cooling.  If you try configuring a different build to these specs, you may get an even better price.

also, if you want to save a few bucks, and get double the RAM, but no DX 10 card, you could buy a refurb.

I did a build on that site and it was about $787 + Shipping. but what got me was a ship date of the 17th..... Then the 5+ business day to get to me. The key here is CIV V which comes out on the 21st. need I say more. Also I need to play and finish Star Craft 2 before then. Its all about Civilization V baby! Then MicroSoft FS11. I will not look like a damn fool playing at 5-8fps again .

Thanks for the insight though I may make another build and Craigslist the lesser of them.

Cool... hopefully I'll be in the market for a new gaming PC before too long, that link will come in handy.
