Another game I'm almost certainly buying.

I hadn't seen anyone put an official poll up yet.

I figure Console Gaming gets the most traffic, so let's see where things shake out.

For what it's worth - I'm completely undecided, and the co-op looks to be pretty fun.  If anyone has any inside information as to which system is "best"  - feel free to share please.

Release dates per Shacknews:

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions of Borderlands hit North America on October 20 and Europe on October 23.
The PC version follows a week later--October 26 in North America, October 30 in Europe

I'm almost certainly buying this one too.  In the very least renting it for a week, maybe two then picking it up in another month or so.  360 for me.

Didn't the developer state that the PC version was the way to go if you had a decent rig?

PC for me, either way.

PC for 100% sure.

Mouse aim.

Any future mods are possible to use.

Buying oblivion and fallout 3 on the 360 was one of my worst mistakes lately.

I'm with you on this one.  If it gets good responses then I'll probably pick up the PC version.

If I get it, I'll get it on 360.  I don't own a PS3, but my feeling is that the 360 is the platform of choice for MP games.

If I get it - I haven't researched it enough to know if it is just a Fallout 3 knock-off, or a really good game in it's own right - if the latter, then it will be on the 360.

Definitely not a fallout knock off, the atmosphere is pretty different even if both are post apocalyptic.  And, *GASP* you can actually use the vehicles that are scattered around the landscape.  Not to mention travel with a buddy.

It's not as open either, but that's also a bit of a good thing considering some had problems with how empty certain parts of the world were in fallout.

Oh and once again, PC!  Playing in a resolution better than 1080p (1920x1200) and having mouse control and gamepad support at the same time.

Although, I just realized the PC isn't likely to have split screen support that console versions have. frown

Though I "don't do" PC games, you answered some other important questions for me, Turtle - and I believe this game will, in fact, make it to my birthday list!  If there is "save anywhere" or decent save point distribution, that is all good, too.  Add to that the fact that the vehicles are not only usable - but they don't blow you up half the time, lol - then that is gravy.  nod

Thanks!   nod

100% PC.  It's a shooter, which means that the mouse will be the ideal control scheme.  It's by Gearbox, who has historically been a PC developer.  They've said themselves that the PC was the lead platform.  You can get a four pack from Steam for $34 each.

I can't see any good reasons for me to not get this on PC.  biggrin

It was totally a joke, but it does make sense that people in the console forum are more likely to pick console, no?

I've never really been that good of a mouse/keyboard shooter, maybe because I'm a lefty, but mostly because I'm just not that good at driving a mouse anymore.  I've invested a lot of time with console shooters, and at this point I don't think the mouse is that much of an advantage for me (if the controls are decent).  With a controller I can just kick back in my reclined chair, and not have to worry about my wrist bothering me after a couple of days of playing the game on the pc.  Plus the 360 version has local co-op, which is big for my family.

With that said, if the pc version turns out to be significantly better, I will pick that one up.  If they are both relatively close in quality, it's the 360 for me.

360 for me - ideally it would probably be a PC buy, but my system is starting to wheeze and clunk a bit too much for me to be comfortable.

I don't know if we've got most of the votes, but the 360 got more votes than I thought.
I wonder how much of this is due to people not thinking their PC can handle Borderlands, or that people are just really excited about co-op and think it will be much easier to do it on the 360?

PC can't cut it.  It's out.
Would get the 360 version if my only coop buddy would buy it, but I know he won't.  Too cheap.  So for me, it will be the PS3 and play solo.  If I even get it.  Undecided.   Nothing I have seen so far make me want to get out of my chair.

360 for the split-screen and ease of co-op.

If it's truly awesome, I can always pick the PC version down the road.  It's what I did for Fallout 3.  Bought for $60 for the 360, played through it. Sold it for $48.  Picked up the collector's edition for the PC on clearance for $35.

Aside from the controls, I'm getting the PC version because there's a decent chance my GF will want to play co-op, and split screen co-op simply sucks, even on my giant TV.  Much better to co-op on PC with our own screens.
