I have a lvl 6 or so hunter named Grim and a lvl 4 or so berserker named Tank. Hunter is going pistols i think. not sure on berzerker. I  DO NOT have any of the expansion packs though.

that has to be the oddest combo match up since burger king made games.  not sure i will bother with the goty version though as i have the two better expansions and the current used price is cheaper than half the new price.

Caine posted this over in consoleville, an great example of why Gearbox is awesome: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fii-KPEmcMw&feature=player_embedded

on another note, I think it's time to give this game the push towards the finish line.  it's been sitting on my Steam list ignored for far too long.

Following Purge's tip over in the Homefront 2 thread, I'm now mostly playing this at a wide 110 LOV (via F11 key binding), and then can zoom a bit with F10 if I need to. At the wider LOV, I put in a couple of hours playing tonight while chatting a bit with Destructor (a Borderlands fan), and.... no motion sickness!  icon_smile In fact, I constantly ran, circle strafed, did everything that made me often ill playing this back when it came out (I liked it when I could cope with it), and never had an issue. It's like rediscovering a game -- I literally had given up on it due to those motion sickness issues, though I got one character to L17.

Although I was skeptical something as relatively simple as LOV tweaking could remedy my motion sickness, the returns in this and Homefront are very promising.  icon_smile I'd like to see whether it's possible (.ini files or what have you) to do that in stuff like the COD: MW games, the Medal of Honor game, L4D games and others that have been problematic for me.

So thanks to Purge, and EnginNo9 earlier, for hammering away at the FOV suggestion until it clicked in my tiny brain.  icon_smile

I decided to finally finish Borderlands, and it had been so long since I played I just restarted with the GOTY edition.  I have to say that having access to the DLC right away seems to have broken the game-  I've done Zombie Island, which put me at level 30, and now I'm working on Claptrap's Robot Revolution, which is obviously designed to be played after the main story but is available right away and most of the enemies are currently level 26 while I'm 2/3rds of the way through level 31.  it seems odd that the last DLC that takes place after the main story would be so easy.   I thought the game was supposed to balance out the enemies according to your level- was I wrong?

anyways, thanks to Revolution's generous loot drops (dear god, it seems like every minor skirmish my backpack is full) I was able to teleport the the Secret Armory of General Knox area and buy the maximum SDU's for ammo on my main guns, plus I now have a shotgun, SMG and combat rifle that regenerate ammo along with a shield that has an insane shield and health regenerate speed, so I literally have no need for money.  I figure it should be a smooth ride to the end of the main story, and then maybe on to General Knox's armor.

The levels are set for enemies for your first playthrough, but on your second playthrough, the enemies will scale to your level (and thus drop the best loot).

I really enjoyed all of the DLC (except for Crawmerax the Invincible in Secret Armory).  Claptrap's Robot Revolution was so funny at times, I had to pause the game because I was laughing so hard I couldn't control my mouse. smile

thanks; doubt I'm going to do a second playthrough though.

Robot Revolution pissed me off-  had a CTD during the final moments of the last boss fight with INAC, and when I reloaded I was all the way back at the beginning of the area which meant I'd have to go through all 3 mini-boss fights again in that area.  I said fuck that shit, put on god mode and waltzed through it to finish the damned thing.  now back to the main story!

You could have just revisited it later when you're more powerful.

Also, the 2nd play-through is more fun IMHO.

I was 34 at that point, I just didn't feel like spending any more time than necessary since I had already gone through the level.

blew through a good portion of the main quest last night; I'm actually at the point where I just run by most enemies and loot since they only give me 1-2 XP at level 35.  I've also been ignoring Claptrap's messages about new missions at the bounty boards, figure those can wait until I get ready for the Secret Armory.  gonna skip Moxxi's altogether though, not really in the mood for 60 or so rounds of combat with little payoff.

didn't realize it was a cross character vault.  oh well, probably shouldn't have emptied it out of the low level stuff I was holding on to and forgot about.

I said the same thing and then I started one and immediately thought....so this is how the game is supposed to play smile.  It is so much more fun and challenging the second playthrough.  I can't play the first play through solo anymore, it's just too easy.

and I'm done with the main quest.  the final boss was ridiculously easy at level 36 (its XP pushed me over to 37)-  I found a spot behind cover that I could snipe it's main weak spot without getting hit by most of it's attacks.

I figure I'll finish up the bounty board quests and Secret Armory DLC then move on.

heh, even at 37 the enemies are doing a pretty good job of beating me up in that one.  starting to feel burned out, so I may run through the main quest missions only this time.

yeah, just got the Cramerax job at the bounty board-  not even going to waste the time since it's level 61 and I'm 41.  finished up with the Secret Armory, and I feel satisfied with calling the game finished biggrin

ha yeah,i forgot about that

Myto was level 63 and i was level 69,I went ahead on purpose as i was already ahead and got Myto to host the game(the enemies levels go off the host's levels)that gave us a bit of a advantage... it was still a long hard fight though(he was always 2 levels above the host),but we did do that hosting thing for all of Moxxi's arena fights as well to make that somewhat easier(and fun)

Me and Myto took about 20 minutes to kill him,we both died a million times, the trick was not to both die at the same time or else his health refreshes

Before going in,we had both heard about him,and on youtube there were some glitch's or tricks you could do so you could take cover and shoot him at the same time if you placed your character at a certain place, but we could not find these places,so the hard way it was

wouldn't even of thought of battling him on my own

what a damn great game that was,I can't wait for Borderlands 2

Just started playing recently after picking up a couple of copies on Steam (GOTY for 7.50) and having a great time with it. I've added some POV tweaks, disabled voice chat (using Ventrilo instead) and the intro movies, and set up my middle mouse button as a zoom toggle which I love if I'm planning to do some extended shooting at range.

I've barely scratched the surface of this one, but already looking forward to the sequel (plenty to do til then). I'll definitely be buying two copies on PC.
