They weren't removed, however the companies have been warned that the pre-existing, previously un-enforced, dress code, will be enforced this year.
I am interested to see how this actually plays out though. E3 needs the gaming companies more than the gaming companies need E3. I wonder what will happen if even a few main stream companies decide to either ignore the warnings or blow off E3 completely (Although this would most likely be a future thing as I doubt they would pull out at the last minute)

Speaking of needing E3 and the like, I'm wondering how many more years G4 will be at E3, given the changes they're going through.

Speaking of needing E3 and the like, I'm wondering how many more years G4 will be at E3, given the changes they're going through. Who knows. They're pimping the hell out of their G4 coverage, though. Weird thing seen yesterday: while watching some X-Play (I'm still miffed it's no longer on at 11 PM on weeknights; I can't catch 4 PM showings!), they now have a quick news segement called "The Feed", hosted by Zach Selwyn (name spelling may be off). Just a quick entertainment news blurb, much like MTV News. Dunno why they're going that route.

Both Icons and Attack of the Show are going away from games and tech and towards 'guy stuff'. It ties in with the Whip Set, Man Show, Star Trek, Fastlane, et al.
G4 is no longer videogame TV.

I was subscribed to G4 for about 3 months and I only liked well none of the shows.
Call for help.... I dont need help.
All the video game shows were hosted by a bunch of weirdo's(I guess thats the right word)
But basically all they really did was read me things I can find on the internet and add in some effects and a host.

I would have loved to host a video game show. I'm normal (well, more normal anyway) and I know games from way back. I don't feel the need to pull my punches either.

G4 is no longer videogame TV. Good thing I never watched G4. Apparently I wasn't missing anything (and Morgan Webb is overrated, IMO) and continue to miss... Star Trek TNG reruns. Whoo-hoo.

I think G4 bought out Techtv just to get xplay. if you look at, xplay is the best show they got.

*booth babes from E3* Now, where did that shot I think I took last year go that clearly showed some guy ducking down and using his camera to get a shot where no camera should be allowed to go... Ah, booth babes. Such a pointless part of E3, yet everybody does them. Wait...that didn't turn out right...

Yeah, but I know winners who gawk longingly at women who will never have anything to do with them. It's not so much a winner/loser kinda thing as it is a "I have a penis" kinda thing.

I'm all for booth babe photos as well. Use that Canon XT Knightshade! If the companies are going to pay for them, we may as well see them...
I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Booth babes have been common practice in the auto industry for years. By all means, as the industry gets more female gamers involved, have some booth dudes as well. I imagine its a great way for young women (and potential young guys) to pay for college in a lot of cases, or to make an extra buck instead of waitressing or any other job young actresses/models take.

That's stupid, my girlfriend looks just as hot in some of the skimpy outfits she wears (sans the DD implants a few of those girls have) and we BOTH gawk at the E3 booth babes! We NEED booth babes at E3!

We NEED booth babes at E3! Maybe it's just me, but most of the "booth babes" at E3 (or other shows of this sort) are anything but "babes". More like "booth skanks" or "booth hos". They always have the same plastered fake smiles, horribly overabundant chest measurements, and unflattering clothing designed purely to either show as much skin as possible or shove their breasts out as far as possible. I'll take looking at my gf any day of the week, thank you.

The only thing I think I'd miss about booth babes are the inevitable G4 segments where they attempt to interview the low-rent spokesmodels about the products they're allegedly there to help demonstrate.
G4: How *you* doin'?
"Model": (snapping gum) Heeyyyyyy! I'm Bloodrayne!
G4: Wow! I...uh...wow! That's a great outfit!
"Model": Yeah, in'nit?!? I'm, like, a ninja assassin, so watch out or I'm gonna get'cha! (waves her plastic wrist blades in the air and makes "wssshhh, wssshhh!" sounds until her gum accidentally pops out of her mouth)
G4: You're pretty!
"Model": What? Oh, thanks...where's my gum? Hey Brandi? Brandi! Hey, can I have some more gum?
"Babe": Sure! Do you want cinnamon or...um...hey, what's does this one say?
G4: (spooling tongue back into mouth) "Wintergreen."
"Babe": Yeah, what he said.
"Model": The wintergreed one is the cool one, right? I'll have that one!
G4: Uh...how *you* doin'?
"Babe": Hi there! I'm Jade for the awesome game "Beyond Good and Bad," and you can probably tell by my green hair, but I'm, like, a fresh and funky secret agent!
G4: You're hot!
"Babe": Thanks! Oh, and I've got this camera and it can, like, take pictures and...like, *make* the pictures so people can see them...and it can totally shoot bad guys and knock 'em out.
G4: Wow, that's great? Listen, do you think I could...get your number?
"Babe:" Aww, that's so sweet, but no.
G4: Are you sure? I...I just feel like we've really connected here, and-
Bouncer: Okay, pal, I think you've seen everything there is to see here. How about you move along, eh?
G4: Wait, I...oh...all right. Um...back to you, Morgan.
Morgan: (inexplicably pouty) Thanks. We'll be back with more of our all-Booth Babe coverage right after this....
