I just found out about that game.  I am

*****crushed*****

that the spiritual successor to Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate is not currently planned on being ported to the Xbox (or any console for that matter).

(Diamond Decision lays his head on the keyboard and sobs uncontrollably)

Honestly, this IS going to kill me!

Hmm...

So are you saying that you don't believe your system will be able to handle the upcoming title?  I am getting the feeling you have decided to go console-only for your gaming fix.

I think it would be odd playing a traditional CRPG without a mouse.  Not impossible, but it would be a different experience.

Thanks for the scoop, though.  I hadn't heard of this before!  And yes, my condolences.

In addition to Jade Empire, Bioware has another console (and presumably console-only) game in the works.  All they've said about it is that it takes place in a new universe they've created, and that this universe is very different from Jade Empire and Dragon Age.  A while back, they copyrighted the title "Star Citadel", so it appears that the new game may be science fiction.

Thank goodness this is coming out on the PC.  Even though I like KOTOR better, its combat can't even begin to match the sheer richness and complexity of the combat in Baldur's Gate 2 (and Dragon Age supposedly has combat similar to the combat found in BG2) and many other computer RPGs.  IMO, comp RPGs generally have much richer and more satisfying combat and gameplay than console RPGs.

Also, I'm really hoping that this unannounced console RPG from Bioware takes place in a sci-fi setting.  We *really* need more sci-fi RPGs in gaming.

rise......

so, no real interest in this for the consoles?  or has everyone just been following the thread in the PC Games forum?  it's finally due out October 20th for the 360, PC and PS3.

I'm looking forward to it on the PC but haven't been following it.

Pre-ordered for the 360 awhile ago. Another RPG, another 100+ hours out of my life :-)

I'm probably going 360 on this one, since EA has the rights, and draconian DRM is sure to follow for the PC. If the Steam version doesn't have any bullshit limitations, I might go that route, otherwise I'll get it for the 360.

I think they already confirmed no weird DRM for Dragon Age on PC.

I thought Dragon Age was some kind of godforsaken MMO...

This is a Bioware RPG for the 360?  I might have to look it up....

Although it's set in a brand new world, it's really the heir apparent to Baldurs Gate II and Neverwinter Nights. It'll be the 1st time Bioware has developed that type of RPG for a console, but given their excellent track record with other console RPG's I'm extremely optimistic about this game.
