It'd be cool if they did seeing as I have the weekend off but I'm not getting my hopes up that any place around here is going to have the PC version before Tuesday.

If they don't, and I happen to be at Target later on and see it, I might just have to cancel my pre-order...

Gamestop better start selling them soon or I'm canceling my pre-order. I just picked up Crackdown used in order to tide me over until the 21st, but Bioshock will definitely take precendence if I can get it earlier.

this was mentioned on neogaf and it looks bogus.  there was an "unconfirmed source" quoted in the forums attributed to levine and it circled around.  the quote (number 4 on this list) is sketchy and assumed false.  the commercial changing it's message would not be the first time i recall such an event.  it's been a while, but i remember another game with a highly publicized date getting an "available now" note in a commercial.  it didn't hit wide release until the expected date.

a few lucky ones have scored it early, but it's very scattered.  a few stores, just tru atm, in the midwest and florida are selling them.  mostly because the clerk doesn't know not to.

i doubt that eb/gs will break street on a wide scale.  if you know they have them and have a good relationship with the manager, you could get lucky there though.

My local EB said they hadn't heard anything and didn't have them in stock.  At Circuit City they didn't know what I was talking about.  I'm tempted to go downtown to J&R's or TRU, but I suspect it's a fool's errand.

Even if some TRU are selling them by this time I would think it would be pointless- I expect that they've all sold out.

I am SO hitting my Gamestop today after work. You know, I should call them... I personally know the manager and are on good terms with like half the staff.

Talked to Gamestop, local and corporate.  Both are 'gathering more information' to see if they will break the date.  As it stands, their talking point is "TRU only got a few copies so it won't affect our sales in any way.  We are holding to our street date for now."  The 'gathering' and 'for now' suggests we might see differently very soon, but when I called TRU (a few here in AZ) they were RUUUUUUDE rude rude rude about telling me that "No - nobody is selling them.  Whatever you heard, you were mistaken."  I explained the pictures and gamertags and they told me that I'm just "completely wrong".  Wow...bad day?

Thanks, Ron.   I'm thinking the Gamestop , Walmart and Target will be sticking with the street date

Unsurprisingly, Best Buy and Gamestop were no-gos.  Best Buy hadn't gotten it, GS had it, but was sticking to street date.

The two Toys 'R Uses near our office both broke the street date.  Me and a few other guys called and went running over.  The one we went to had five copies.  A guy in front of us bought one and we bought the other four.  It was pretty funny - the clerk showed us the cheap padded envelope he had received them in.  At the other store another one of our guys got the last copy.  Woo!  Bioshock!

I expect when you send me the copy you piced up for me, you'll pack it a bit better than Toys R Us?

The game is just slightly anticipated, eh? biggrin

Looks like you were recently in contact with Canuckesium, a substance known to help people think with a level head, but adds "eh" to the end of sentences and changing about to aboooot.

Call your local poison control ASAP, this could be serious.

I'm confused.  When is the "official" release date supposed to be?

And is TRU the only company letting it go early?

There are quite a few Springfield's in America (one is the capital of Illinois). And yes, there's a South Park in Colorado.

Dammit!  I was in Springfield this week, and thought 'No way the TRU in this backwater town has any copies'.

You live there, tiktoman?  I'm doing consulting work for the State of Illinois gov., so I'm in Springfield most days during the week.  Buy you a drink sometime if you show me a good bar downtown.  smile
