Songbird plushie!  I also kinda like the Devil's Kiss Vigor Bottle, but not $350 like.  They should do a whole set in cheaper materials.

It's taken me a while to get to this game, I'm about 3-4 hours in. I'm surprised at how antiquated it feels, it's definitely a game that started development early in the generation. The environments feel very static, the textures are low res, the object and character models have sharp edges, there's even a lack of weight to the gunplay that I haven't felt in more recent shooters. The game isn't drawing me in nearly as much as the original Bioshock, and I'm disappointed in how much Infinite cribs from that game as far as the overall design goes, especially stuff like searching trash cans for items, the lax death penalty, the goofy videos when you get a new vigor, and all of the audio logs. I also dislike the user interface, there's too much shit to toggle between and it's not elegant about it - toggling between vigors, guns, and zoom in/zoom out during combat is cumbersome.

Oh well, I guess this is another case of hoping the story picks up the slack for the middling mechanics, like in Last of Us.

Just finished this, and while it certainly had its moments i have to agree with Ridah that it felt a little off, infact i know its set before Bioshock 1,but in some places it felt like it was developed before Bioshock 1 as well

I did really love the skylines, they were quite cool, but overall i think i liked both Bioshock 1 AND 2 over this

The story was decent enough, typical ending though from these games TBH,i failed to see much connection actually to Columbia and Rapture, was there supposed to be?,even the Handymans didn't shout out Big Daddy to me,but maybe its not supposed to

It took the story ending for me to realize I really liked it, but the first chunk of the game was NOT drawing me in. And Irrational needs to hire better mechanics people.

BioShock Creator: Please Stop Making Elizabeth Porn:

Quote
Look here, you nasty pervert horndogs. Ken Levine has seen all that porn people are making out of Elizabeth, from BioShock Infinite, and he wants you to know That's Not Cool. "It's like coming across a picture of your daughter," he says.

The BioShock creator was in a Reddit AMA yesterday, responding to a fan joking that, with the upcoming Burial at Sea extension looking like film noir in tone, he expected future installments to "follow various genres such as Spaghetti Western and Romantic Comedy."

"It's going to be porn," Levine cracked. "Lots and lots of porn."

"Seriously, whoever is doing the Elizabeth porn on deviantart, please stop it," Levine said. "You're killing me."

Curious if anyone has delved into part into part 1 of Burial at Seas yet?  I know with the PS4 releasing this week shoved this into the rear with anything else not PS4 related.  I've read some reviews and the gist that I get is wait for both DLC to release before playing

I have the season pass and I think that's my plan

It's a very good DLC, grab it if you like Bioshock overall. Some good improvements to the gameplay as well, although it's still Bioshock combat.

yeah, I was happy to hear that they went back with BI1/2 style weapon management.  no more halo/cod style nonsense.  sadly, it's not a long experience and doesn't live up to the potential that they were hinting at.  I'll pick up the dlc when it's cheap on the PC.

This DLC was odd. I was really enjoying it at first but my enjoyment of it kinda went down as it went along. I didn't dislike it but was just ok by the end. I know one thing I didn't like was Elizabeth being a bit hostile to Booker, for good reason. A bit of a killjoy.

Lttp. Just finished the main game. Have to say I was rather disappointed. Relentlessly linear, hardly any upgrades to look forward to, and I never really got into Elizabeth. There just wasn't much to the combat either. I early on discovered blast with electric and then use burst gun and pretty much everything goes down. And the last big set piece battle was more annoying than anything else. The story never grabbed me either. Game was a letdown overall. And it was rather short.

part 2 of Burial at Sea is expected on March 25th

if I can pull away from Infamous, I'll load this up on PC.  glad that Steam let the season pass go for $5 during the winter sale.

Game finished!!! And wowzers, what a ride it was. It definitely lived up to the reviews and expectations. Irrational made a superb game. That ending is gonna be floating in my head for quite a while.

Yeah, in my top 5 best endings ever. I just sat there and pondered after the ending for quite some time.

Just finished Part 2. Wow. That was a huge improvement over Part 1 which I didn't care for so much. The opening for Part 2 was pretty fantastic and it just took off from there. Loved the new gameplay mechanics with the stealth features. I'm not sure how long this particular episode was but I think I played it close or beyond 6hrs. It was pretty meaty. Really wowed by the DLC. After the first two this pretty much makes up.

I liked the DLC overall, but I also had a lot of major issues with the story and it's conclusion.

I wrote this up over on OO, but here it is again:
Spoiler for Hiden:
I didn't like Elizabeth dying at the end, only because it's just pointless and cyclic. And I feel like it's Levine's last FU to 2K, Irrational, and his fans when he decided to go that route. Sure, there was that whole family cyclic thing going on, but it's handled with the poor level that the Wachowski Bros are known for. It's like he just didn't want the characters reused for sequels after he left, then just dismantled the studio just to be sure.

I really dislike how the end focused too much on Bioshock 1's main character, and didn't include anything between Booker and Liz.

That said, they did do a lot of nice filling in of small plot elements. They even made Daisy a more relatable character instead of just another crazy, murder everyone that gets in her way leader. Some people didn't like how it retcons her character, but I like how it added depth to the character that I thought was banal in the base game.

I enjoyed part 2 far more than part 1 (which I did not like at all....), and thought it was interesting how they tied the events from Bioshock and Infinite together.  At the same time, it made me realize how much I did not like Infinite's setting.
