I saw this today: http://rev.vggen.com/news/news.php?id=628According to French site Jeuxpo.com, recently knighted Ubisoft producer Michel Ancel is currently working on a sequel to Beyond Good & Evil, and it's headed to Nintendo Revolution among other next-gen consoles (the article didn't specify Xbox 360 or PS3).
Details are scarce, but supposedly the game will take place shortly after the events in the original, and will allow players to travel to different planets. If it's true then this made my day. And on the Revolution no less? Here's the original French site for anyone who can read it: http://jeuxpo.com/afficher_news-1257.html

It says that originially the game was planned to be a trilogy. Not many details on that page, other than that the game should play like the first one (but, as you mentioned, Jade will travel to different planets).
Frankly, I'm surprised that there would be a sequel. The first was great but I was under the impression that it didn't sell well at all.

The first was great but I was under the impression that it didn't sell well at all. That is true, but I'm not sure how well it sold elsewhere (it may have done well in France, for instance), and since Ancel got knighted, he may have a little carte blanche, as the French say.

Not to mention he now has clout thanks to King Kong.
BG&E was a masterpiece and if this turns out, then it's great news.

You know what'll be even better? I'm betting they'll include the original BG&E with the sequel.

I read something about it, after all the price drops and whatever, that all three versions (ps2, xbox and 'cube) sold 600k. That's a lot higher than I was aware of.
Beyond Good & Evil never got the attention it deserved, and I'm really happy there's talk of a sequel.

That news just made my day. Hopefully it's not just a rumor and the game sees the light of day.

Not to mention he now has clout thanks to King Kong. But did KK sell well, really? I remember hearing that it didn't, but that may have been early in the sales cycle.

Just wanted to add a "me too". One of my favorite games and I would love to see more of Jade's story.

Will this one also include a cheating bitch of a final boss after a tremendously entertaining game?

Yes you did but once he got above me I could never once hit him. He did that to me so many times in a row that I got pissed off and left it.

It's funny how many people had problems with the final boss. It wasn't that hard people In my mind, all it took was a bit of old-school gamer mentality. And since the rest of the game wasn't actiony (at least not compared to other action titles), that part of your mind just sorta turned off and wasn't ready for it. But yeah, great ending. Must play sequel... Must find out what happens to... Er... Sorry, can't say that without spoliage.

It's funny how many people had problems with the final boss. It wasn't that hard people well i broke a few controllers trying to kill him, just when you thought....'yay'.....it came back to life over and over and then the controls went back to front or inside out ....and you just thought......WTF?....so i turned the game off and never went back

It's funny how many people had problems with the final boss. It wasn't that hard people It wasn't hard compared to an action game like Ninja Gaiden or Devil May Cry but compared to the rest of Beyone Good and Evil it is hard and very out of place. You play a whole game where you sneak around, avoid conflict, use the terain and your brain to solve puzzles then suddenly they force a boss fight on players. If finished it but I thought it was stupid and out of place with the rest of the game.

I didn't have a problem with the final boss, but I'm fairly certain that I loaded up on the health refils - Kbups, or something - before I fought. So I may have gotten spanked, I can't remember, but I survived the fight and beat it on my first try.
