Ok, I'm getting the feeling I should have played the original.  I think I tried the PC version and gave up on the controls.

Which is the best console version, Xbox?  GC?

Go for the Xbox or PS2 version.  Not sure if it's backwards compatable though.

It's not on the BC list, unfortunately.

I'm actually trying to temper my enthusiasm somewhat, at least until an official announcement.  Remember that even Duke Nukem Forever has a teaser trailer, and that one will never see the light of day.

Xbox version isn't; PS2 version is with corrupted water textures on my 80GB.  Any reason you didn't mention the GC version?  Because I don't even have to check if that's Wii compatible!

This is an official announcement- the trailer was at Ubidays which is Ubisoft's press event.  It's always possible that it could be canceled, I suppose, but this is about as formal announcement as you could ask for.

I played BG&E for a while, and then there was a bit of dialogue that my wife was talking over and I couldn't hear it.  After that, I lost interest.  I was in the factory when this happened...does the game stay in the factory, or does it leave there?  I had fun with what I played, but I wouldn't call it earth-shattering.

Hey, I didn't pan EBA.  I just said it was really freaking difficult, which no one can really dispute.  Jumpin' Jack Flash is one of the coolest parts of any game I've ever played ever and I seriously got misty-eyed at "You're My Inspiration," and I friggin' HATE Chicago.

I also had a good time with BG&E too.  The fault is laid more at my wife's feet than mine, as with most things in life. icon_razz I'm very seriously considering picking up a GC copy just so I can give it another shot.  But where does it go from there?  Spoiler tag me (but don't give away any giant twists plz).

In-engine means less and less these days.  There's little chance you're going to have that pig running around looking like that and animating like that in the actual game.

Nice smile  Basically just take this as an announcement teaser and nothing more.  If he's really only been working on it a year, we might not see it until 2010, and who knows what anything will look like then.

From the way it's presented, we'll probably see little teasers presenting each character.

Spoiler for "From the Original BGE":
I wonder if anyone knows Peyj is infected with whatever evil thing it was from the first game.  Should be interesting to see how it pans out.  They could have Jade searching for a cure, or if no one knows, well that'll be an interesting backstab moment.

Nice.  icon_lol

No, it was when they were introducing the guy with the armor to you, and I couldn't hear a word he said.  I had to quit for the night almost right after that, and when I got back I didn't know what to do or where to go, and as always, there's another game sitting on the shelf beckoning to me.

I did like it, though.

There's a blurb about it on Gamespot here.   Looks like there's a time frame for release as well:

Quote
Ubisoft did say that it had a pair of unannounced sequels in existing franchises set for release by the end of March.

Yeah, it'd be great if that was true but I'm guessing the "unannounced sequels" are something like GRAW 3 and AC2.
