From VentureBeat:

To sum it up:

PS4 (550k estimated) > Xbox > ???

1. Destiny (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3)

2. Madden NFL 15 (360, PS4, PS3, Xbox One)

3. FIFA 15 (PS4, 360, PS3, Xbox One, Wii, Vita, 3DS)

4. Super Smash Bros. for 3DS (3DS)

5. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

6. NHL 15 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)

7. Minecraft (360, PS3)

8. The Sims 4 (PC)

9. Disney Infinity 2.0 (360, PS3, Wii U, PS4, Xbox One)

10. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls (PS4, 360, PS3, Xbox One, PC)

11. Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)

Interestingly enough, the Xbox One version of Destiny supposedly sold more than the PS4 version. But then again, Microsoft was giving a free game away that month with a console purchase, and the bundled PS4 version wasn't counted.

They only measure standalone retail sales for these stats, so bundles and digital purchases don't count. That makes it hard to estimate the actual sales, especially as retail is becoming less and less relevant to gamers.

Yeah the Destiny sales by platform is tough to know without that PS4 bundle information.  I think Sony was claiming to be the #1 platform for it though.  Basically from the released information all we know is that the amount of (existing XB1 owners who purchased Destiny XB1 + the people that purchased an XB1 with a free copy of Destiny) >  existing PS4 owners who purchased Destiny PS4.   The XB1 free game was a sales promotion and not a bundle so the free game gets counted as part of NPD, while the PS4 Destiny bundle included the game in the box, so it's not counted.  Neither counts digital sales, but I would imagine that the % of digital purchases v. retail is going to be roughly the same on both consoles.

Curious what the breakdown of players on both systems is now 1 month+ after launch.

Also, good to see Shadows of Mordor break into the top 5 behind some major titles.  I hope it pays off well for them and encourages a sequel or big expansion.

I was also glad to see Shadows up there.  Diablo 3 too, maybe we'll get more amazing console games from Blizz.
