Oh, and don't forget:  It may seem like an odd choice, but compared to every other game on store shelves, a stark, midnight-black box really caught the eye and conveyed exactly the sense of unease and forboding The Avatar felt upon returning to Britannia this time around. Sorry about my missing pics...seems my ftp server went missing on my ISP. They could'nt find a trace of it..said it was as if it was never there..no logs or it no errors. They made me a new one of thier new server so ALL my stuff on the other is gone forever.

Max payne is cheap now, i think i seen the game at ebgames for 7.99. I wonder could ATI 7000 64MB handle the game.
Do anyone know if the graphics are a big difference from Max payne 1?

3 nominees, all old school; sorry no pix:
(1) Civilization . The box for the original civ, all done in a white paper/sculptured style. Great effect. Timeless, classic, & just plain beeeeauuuutiful. Easily my favorite "looking" box ever.
(2) System Shock. First SS. Highly textured "oil painting " (or simirl high texture) of protagonist w/ cool glasses/specs on. Very very creepy & nicely intimidating.
(3) Icewind Dale. Loved the bleak "tree logo" of IWD - like some old remote inn's worn & beaten roadsign - seemed to just say brrrr cold- cool stuff is inside here.
Honorable mention to Bioforge, already previously cited.
As to more recent titles, I also like the already mentioned Evil Genius
