very disappointed so far in both the pc and 360 versions.  PC is almost ok, 360 looks and plays awfully imo.

I had a great deal of fun with the beta on 360. Some glitches graphically on occasion but felt and played well.

I enjoyed the variety of places to go and fight. Having 5 squad members is nice as well. I also liked the little touches like elevators, gates you can open and close, vehicle barriers you can use to block off sections from tanks etc.

I'm debating grabbing the PC beta just to see how my system handles it, but, quite frankly I prefer competitive shooters on the console.

Looking forward to the Xbox One version that will have 64 players. 12v12 feels a bit sparse sometimes.

if you liked 3, you will likely like 4.  I didn't care for 3, and this feels a lot like it.

The PC version feels heads and shoulders above the 360 version Jarrod, you would probably like it a lot.

The game looks awful on the PS3 and using R2 to spot feels weird.  Hopefully this looks and plays better on the PS4.

Yup,looks absolutely terrible on the 360 as well

I spawned near a car that was intact, but it just looked awful,i thought i was looking at PS2 graphics

next gen/pc is the way to go for this, and as i will be late to the next gen party,BF4 may very well pass me by

Ahh,R2 is it...been pressing Select wondering why the hell it took me to some kind of menu

EDIT:
Oh wait,do you mean R2 as in the Right Trigger?,that doesn't help me as that is fire for 360,i thought at first you meant R3(right analogue stick button)..maybe its RB for 360 then,i'll have to play about some more

People this is a beta version without all the stuff like the best textures used. There's no reason this doesn't look the same as BF3 on the 360 did which was just fine for a current gen game.

played the beta on the PC for as long as it allowed me to without crashing.  Graphics look decent, made sure to change everything to ultra or high if there was no ultra setting.  however, as I said the game was pretty crashtastic.  first time loading it up it took forever on the loading screen until I got the 'blah de blah blah has stopped working' message.  second time, got in, fiddled with the graphics options, and played a bit before I got the same crash.

looking over the forums I see they still have the wonderfully descriptive error messages: 'Game disconnected: something went wrong' and the likes.  I think the beta may have saved me money, not sure I'm willing to go through the same BS again that I did when BF3 launched.

R2 on the PS3 where most games use R1 to shoot. On Xbox it's probably RB to spot?

I tried the 360 beta and thought it was ok. It's a battlefield game, so I'm inherently going to enjoy it. But my gaming time has fallen off a cliff this year, and the beta didn't do much to make me want to buy this game.

Gave it about 30 minutes last night on the 360.

Hark is right. It looks REALLY bland.

Also, I still hate running across the map only to die and have to run across the map again. Not sure why I didn't feel that way in BF:BC.

Had no idea what I was doing either. smile  Manged to kill a few fools and cap a few flags, but spent most of the time waiting running to and fro, getting wiped out and trying again.

It's compelling enough that I'll give it another go though.

are tanks are less powerful than they used to be?  I'm seeing players on my team hit foot soldiers and the foot soldiers just keep on going.

I'm also finding the level of destruction to be less than satisfying.  this demo has me waffling again.

Played some more last night, and had fun but wasn't captivated...

I'm unclear on how to get in and out of vehicles or even how to find them. I seem to spawn right next (white image on the map) to one but it's nowhere to be found.

Aren't the white markers just to let you know where the vehicles spawn and not where they actually are?

I don't remember them being on the map if a vehicle wasn't there, but the size of the icons is a bit too big for the map.  heck, I've even had vehicles spawn outside the battlezone yet they appeared to be inside the play area.

I actually read the map. You have to use the right stick to spawn in a vehicle.

I am just appalled at how bland the textures are.  It feels like a step backwards from games I played years ago.  Not sure what's going on.  Obviously the game is more of a beast to run on the aged 360, but there should be a way for them to fine tune the graphics so that it least looks like shooters that have been out for 3-5 years.

Also, had a point last night whre I was on a small building and I crouched and a tank I was tracking disappeared.  It was still there, jsut invisible. Same thing happened with a jeep/humvee thing and then a gun outpost once it was manned by an enemy.

Lastly, as recon, when you laser a tank, how do you make the bomb hit it?  Is it automatic that once it's locked the ordinance is in bound and you have to keep the target lasered?

it's not like the laser  designator of bad company.  there is no ordnance.   You need an engineer to shoot an rpg at your target, the rpg gains tracking while you laze.

Thanks hark.

I actually earned a few points enough to see some of the level progression.  And now i'm interested again...

I'm still getting smacked regularly, but am beginning to devise tactics.

Is there any way to determine where the elevators are and onto which floors they dump out?

Also, how do I see vehicle controls?  All it seems to show is the basic controller set up...

There appear to be elevators that go at least one level further up if htere is a sub roof.

Also, how does one bring down the skyscraper?

I wouldn't say reliable, I mean there is no muzak.  However, there can still be awkward conversations with your other squadmates.

so this is awesome... they added a new game mode 'Obliteration', but you can't access it from Quick Match, you have to use the server browser.  Only problem is that on the Xbox the server browser always reports every server as empty.

That and when you reload a shotgun, it takes ammo away equal to your total capacity on each round.  So if you have 6 in the gun, 36 in reserve, you actually only get 12 shots.  brilliant!

Had some real fun with it when i played this afternoon after work.  It's really growing on me.

How do you tell which columns need to be destroyed to bring down the building?

also, how do you use the paddles? do you just walk up to the guy and pull the trigger to revive them?

what's the deal with auto healing? is it just on a delay or is it a class ability?

and are there any ammo boxes on the map like in BC?

It hasn't moved into the buy category yet, but i'm liking it much more.

And it still has the best sound in any game series ever.

Tried again several times today.  Lag is pretty severe.  Even when the server says it's a perfect connection you can fire an RPG, see no effect, count to 3 then the explosion happens.  Same thing getting in and out of vehicles.

Game can be fun when it's working, but I fear we might have another month of no servers working like BF3's launch.

12gig optional install for the Xbox 360 version

Quote
The Multiplayer Disc, or Disc 1, has an additional 6.6 GB of content
The Single Player Disc, or Disc 2, has 5.8 GB of installation content.

Both Optional

however...

Regardless of which disc you chuck into your console first, there'll be a mandatory 2GB installation.

I've been playing it on and off and yes, lag can be very severe even when it says you have 30-ish ping to the server. I also get some fps lag but that could be due to my aging CPU though other games have no such issue.

I'm so tempted to get this but having 2nd thoughts. Debating whether to get this or wait for Assassin's Creed 4 or Watch Dogs.
