looks like its gonna miss its October (rumoured)release,although not sure any of us was really expecting it around then anyway when this thread was created and the date was first rumoured

the plus side is that Warner never officially announced a release date,so whether this can still be considered as a delay i don't know...but i do have a few games i want this fall,so i guess i am fine with beginning of 2011...unless we get Mass Effect 3 or Bioshock 3

oh and(apparently) there is new DLC coming for the first game...if that advertisement that CVG spotted isn't referring to Batman AA2

sure, the period will be less congested after X-Mas, until every other game company delays their games like they did last holiday season

yeah i just read that in Bullwinkles link....because of the pointy nose it looked more like The Penguin to me and i thought he was slightly closing one eye as he had his monocle in,but on closer inspection,.its because half his face is screwed,LOL

so from the Teaser we know The Joker and Harley Quinn are back
and that cover Catwoman..and perhaps Two Face(and the end of the first game wasn't the police radio saying Two Face was robbing a bank?)

so you think this could be an open world GTA4 style game?...if i remember rightly,Rocksteady announced that they had started to work on this game before AA was released back in August 2009...is two years enough for an open world Gotham?

and i missed the fact that 'Arkham City' is the name for Gothams new Prison...so i take it will be just like Arkham Asylum,but different building(and surrounding grounds)....i thought they were running free around Gotham causing mayhem

It depends on how nice of an ass Catwoman has in the game, to be honest. Her costume looks pretty awesome in those images, and her suit seems to include a visor so she probably has the x-ray vision (forgot what it's called) like Bats.

From (one of the) Catwoman dedicated titles, I didn't recall any powers to the goggles (may have to pull the issues when I get home), but Wiki indicates that they are infrared capable.

Well I was specifically thinking that you would have the choice to play as Cat Woman, not Robin.

The new prison is in the middle of Gotham, so I would imagine you get to explore parts of the city as well.

i am ok with "just" getting a bigger explorable area.  i think batman would make a great open world game, but AA proved that a great batman game doesn't need to go that route.

Everything doesn't need to be a sandbox game/open world game.  AA's restricted focus allowed for a much better story.

in a perverse way, this could work, but in a lego batman sequel as kart racing makes more sense there.
