looks like its gonna miss its October (rumoured)release, although not sure any of us was really expecting it around then anyway when this thread was created and the date was first rumoured

the plus side is that Warner never officially announced a release date,so whether this can still be considered as a delay i don't know...but i do have a few games i want this fall,so i guess i am fine with beginning of 2011...unless we get Mass Effect 3 or Bioshock 3 Tongue

"We've been told that Warner has acted early to avoid releasing the game into a heavily congested pre-Christmas market," the unnamed source told CVG. "It wants to dominate the first quarter of 2011 instead, when it can get maximum retail space and mindshare amongst gamers."

oh and(apparently) there is new DLC coming for the first game...if that advertisement that CVG spotted isn't referring to Batman AA2

sure, the period will be less congested after X-Mas, until every other game company delays their games like they did last holiday season  icon_twisted

Arkham City might be fitting given the teaser.

unless they are meaning all the loonies(thats PC friendly, right? Tongue ) have escaped into the city and The Joker has took it upon himself to rename Gotham then yeah

Spoiler from the first game

Spoiler for Hiden:
there is also one there called stop Mayor Sharp..he ran Arkham Asylum,as he went mental(PC Friendly part 2)himself in AA1,if you rermember that, perhaps he has reappeared and ...er ran for office

from the Batman wiki on Sharp
Quote
Players in Batman: Arkham Asylum can discover a secret room in the Warden's Office, with an approved plan designed by Sharp himself to "clean up" Gotham City. It is here Sharp stores his most important documents, safely hidden away during the Joker's takeover of Arkham. His personal computer and numerous filing cabinets are stored here.It is possible Sharp escaped with his most important files, as they appear ransacked and drawers are left hanging open when the room is discovered.

not a great name for the game but a pretty good side story

so,from that GI cover i take it Catwoman confirmed then?...and is that Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot on the poster in the background?

and Fall 2011 is very disappointing...we are still in summer now,so that means we have to wait well over a year for this

i am glad they haven't got a 2 or II in the title.....kinda like the Batman films

yeah i just read that in Bullwinkles link....because of the pointy nose it looked more like The Penguin to me and i thought he was slightly closing one eye as he had his monocle in,but on closer inspection,.its because half his face is screwed,LOL

and which glyph?...the Gotham City Radio sign you mean?

yes you did, although it was the top name in that quote of links Tongue...(i am trying to keep you from getting too full of yourself)

so Two-Face for Mayor?...where will that leave The Joker?

so from the Teaser we know The Joker and Harley Quinn are back
and that cover Catwoman..and perhaps Two Face(and the end of the first game wasn't the police radio saying Two Face was robbing a bank?)

so you think this could be an open world GTA4 style game?...if i remember rightly,Rocksteady announced that they had started to work on this game before AA was released back in August 2009...is two years enough for an open world Gotham?

It depends on how nice of an ass Catwoman has in the game, to be honest. Her costume looks pretty awesome in those images, and her suit seems to include a visor so she probably has the x-ray vision (forgot what it's called) like Bats.

From (one of the) Catwoman dedicated titles, I didn't recall any powers to the goggles (may have to pull the issues when I get home), but Wiki indicates that they are infrared capable.

The new prison is in the middle of Gotham, so I would imagine you get to explore parts of the city as well.

i am ok with "just" getting a bigger explorable area.  i think batman would make a great open world game, but AA proved that a great batman game doesn't need to go that route.

Everything doesn't need to be a sandbox game/open world game.  AA's restricted focus allowed for a much better story.
