According to Warner Bros' German branch the game is listed to be due in October Warner, however have denied all and pulled the info http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/Comicmoviestuff/news/?a=14517 what you reckon?,are you ready(or will you be ready)if the game was/is to be released in October?...i know that i crave some more i do hope that they can come up with a new Title than Batman:Arkham Asylum 2,especially if the rumours are true that it takes place in the city,as that wouldn't really make sense the Original Batman AA game was released in August of last year,so just over a year for the sequel(if it is to be October) isn't too big a thing..and i am sure Square Enix would love to benefit from taking over Eidos here is the 1minute 30 seconds trailer that we saw last year http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W73_hcyc6Dg

Uggh I hope they take longer than that to properly develop a sequel, instead of just cashing in.

Batman AA was such a good game, I couldn't agree more that I hope they take the time to do it right. I'd definitely be in for the sequel.

I'm hard pressed to think of any sequels worth their salt this generation that had a 14 month development timeline. Seems way, way too soon.

IIRC, they were already underway on the sequel by the time the first came out. I feel like I read that somewhere, but I could be wrong.

Left 4 Dead 2 came out a year after the original and was well-received.

Of one of the premier game developers on all of planet earth doing what so many others have failed at and they shouldn't have done because L4D1 shouldn't have been replaced so quickly.... I disagree on L4D. They made some fundamental changes to how the director worked that wasn't just a patch, plus the game is tons better to play than the first one.

My question about AA2 is will it give into the comic book syndrome that other comic-based games have given into or will it continue to be an awesome game that happens to be about a comic book character. Batman is really the best comic book character to make a game out of anyway so maybe it will be fine.

Co-op Batman and Robin could be fun. Although it is a little odd that when he wasn't mentioned at all in the first game it turns out that Robin is around.

I'm not intimately familiar with the comic book story arcs, but is Robin still around after Batgirl becomes Oracle? I thought he became Nightwing. Or would this be one of the younger, "new" Robins? I seem to remember a 2nd Robin in the animated series.

Yes, there have been many Robins: Dick Grayson- the original and the one who became Nightwing. Jason Todd- Dick's replacement. Only lasted a few years Killed by the Joker (after legions of fans callled a 900 number to vote whether he lived or died). Actually managed to stay dead for like 15 years before returning to life. Tim Drake- relatively long term Robin that replaced Jason I think there was/is a female Robin as well (Stephanie something or other maybe?). Thing are more confusing in the past two years because of some major shuffling in the entire Bat Family (Bruce Wayne disappears, Dick becomes Batman, etc) and I'm not sure if that stuff has settled out yet.

I don't think the game has a specified timeframe. I'd guess that it would be either Dick Grayson or Tim Drake. More likely the latter so they can reserve Nightwing for use sometime later. However he is also listed as voicing Jason Todd in something called Under the Red Hood (I'm guessing an animated movie but not sure) so maybe theyi would use Jason Todd in the hopes of eventually using the The Death in the Family (where Robin died) arc and maybe have him come back as the Red Hood sometime later.

Probably one that gets captured and needs saving. But seriously, even though I dislike Robin, I have faith in RockSteady to do him/her justice.

Tim Drake was replaced as Robin by Damian Wayne (slightly illegitimate son of Talia al Ghul (daughter of Ras al Ghul) and Bruce Wayne) when Dick Grayson became Batman. it's kinda interesting to see a Robin who was raised to be an assassin... that said, didn't Alfred and Two Face both show up in the IMDB listing for AA1?

Ah, yeah I forgot about Damian. Nice to see Son of the Demon brought into continuity. that said, didn't Alfred and Two Face both show up in the IMDB listing for AA1?
Yes which is why I'm loathe to believe things that use IMDB as a single source. If they want to do co-op then Robin does make a lot of sense but it could also be that they were interviewing the actor about something and he said something like "I'm voicing Robin in a videogame" and someone assumed it was AA 2 instead of Lego Batman 2, the DC Universe MMO, or some other game.

I think Miller's works are considered their own branch of continuity (though Year One is also sort of part of the main DC continuity too).

I have to ask - How does one have a "slightly" illegitimate son?

The last I rememember about Damian is that Talia and Bruce were married in Ras' kingdom, and Bruce didn't know that he had a kid for a long time (Mike Barr - stories -Son of the Demon maybe?) The test tube issue came up with Terry McGinnis -Batman Beyond as part of one of the last arcs for Justice League in the Timm-Diniverse. Like I said, I can't keep up with all the ret-cons every 6 months or so. I still need to play AA1 -just to stay on topic
