From Gameinformer link: Gadgets can now be used during fights - the article mentions Batman putting explosive gel on the back of one of his opponents during a brawl.

That sounds badass, probably against some of the bigger enemy boss types

as long as it wont take anything from the single player,then fine...doubt i will dabble in it(although i said that about Bioshock 2 and finished the MP in a week),it would most prolly be Co-Op..as otherwise we would probably have a MGS online style game(and we don't want that)

Batman Arkham City is 'complete'

The blowout starts from 01:00 onwards, and opens with the revelation that Batman: Arkham City is actually finished. Rocksteady can play from start to finish, meaning that the next year until release is just polishing, and adding new features.

There are also now side-missions that you can choose to take along with the main objective; for instance, Zsasz is calling random telephone boxes and telling the people who pick up that they'll die in the morning. You can choose to get involved and try track him down, or just walk past. However, it's unclear how this might work in co-op. Yep, co-op was hinted at; journalists saw Catwoman sneak away into the night using the exact same moves as Batman. One asked whether this means co-op will be in the game, to which a developer replied "We're not talking about that right now". Nice.

And, finally, it rains a lot in Arkham City. Harley Quinn drenched in rainwater?

Batman:AC is 4 or 5 times bigger than Batman :AA

Batman: Arkham City developer Rocksteady has revealed that the game - due for release next year - is "four or five times" bigger than its much-loved predecessor.

"Without a doubt, the hardest part of moving the game setting from the confines of the asylum into the urban sprawl of Arkham City was simply building the environment," he said.

"Our objective in this game is not to make the biggest game we can, but to make the best game possible. Gamers who played Batman: Arkham Asylum will know how dedicated we are as a studio to injecting an incredible amount of detail into every environment we build.

I also like that Harley is basically oblivious to how imposing he is.

the side mission with Zsasz,with the phones,sound a little like Dirty Harry...very much looking forward to them

and 5 times bigger,i reckon they will certainly need all this time for polish,if its playable from start to finish already

i really hope The Riddler makes an appearance

he was only arrested if you found out all of his clues.  he should be in there personally, but in one of the previews, his puzzles were mentioned as the basis for a new form of puzzle.  they won't be simple collectibles this time if i read it right.

detective mode upgraded

Game Director Sefton Hill has revealed a couple of key new upgrades - which make solving The Riddler's pesky puzzles a little easier for Gotham's Dark Knight.

"As with nearly every area of the game we're enhancing it. One example is the criminal database coupled with the new interrogation mechanic," he told the new issue of PSM3.

"The Riddler continues to taunt the Dark Knight with mind-bending puzzles and exploration challenges, but the location of his biggest secrets are known only to him and people he's told. Rather than unlocking their locations using maps, Batman will be able to scan a gang of thugs to find a potential informant."


Hill also discussed the interplay between the different mechanics - saying that using Batman's FreeFlow combat while trying to spare a single goon for interrogation may present a challenge.

"This is the guy you need to question, but first you'll have to take down all the other gang members while sparing the one you want. That can be tough when Batman's in a seamless FreeFlow combo chain" said Hill.

Well, I have to admit that this makes me happy.  Some games need multiplayer, this one didn't.  More concentration on the single player gameplay is a good thing.
