IGN has reviewed Baten Kaitos, giving it 8.8/10.  Also, Game Informer gave it 8.75/10.

Looks cool.  A shame the 'Cube couldn't get more original RPGs like Paper Mario, though.

Excellent.  I will be picking this up right after I beat Tales of Symphonia.  I'm probably about 80% through ToS.

It would be interesting to know if Baten Kaitos is better than ToS.

I almost didn't sell my GCN because of Baten Kaitos, but I just couldn't justify keeping the system for one game that might be good.  Looks like I might be picking up a used GCN now.

Normally I'd snatch this up right away, but with the big PC releases of HL2 and Vampire, I'm going to wait a bit before picking this up.
