I have been thinking of the unthinkable.  A run through BG1 and BG2 BACK TO BACK.  While I understand this challenge may take years, possibly a decade, the only thing that has kept me starting the en devour is the REALLY crappy graphics of BG1.  I have been aware of the Tutu mod and have heard of great disasters late in the game which is  enough to scare me away from it.  I happened across the Baldur's Gate Trilogy mod and it sounds badass.  It seems to effortlessly put the BG1 game data into the BG2 engine as well as the other enhancements introduced into BG2.  It also bridges the gap between BG1 and 2 story wise as well as a few other features.

I searched the PC game forums and saw no threads about BGT.  Has anyone used it and is it reliable?

http://www.spellholdstudios.net/readme/BGTReadme.htm

EDIT: Heh, I just saw this thread that links to the same site.

THANKS

You know what's insane? There's an ultra giant unbelievably huge super-combo version available that combines the two core games and their expansions, along with a shit-ton of mods, together into one game of utterly epic proportions. And it was updated in May of this year.

The game is HOW old now and it's still being worked on by modders? THAT shows you just how powerful of an RPG this game is.

I'd love to do this. I really do. I just can't devote some 250 hours to a single game (technically) anymore.

Hmm..this is tempting.  I never got a chance to play BG1, and both times I started BG2 and Throne I got interrupted  due to hard drive failures (that's how long the game takes to finish!).  I'm sure I could find BG1 somewhere cheap.

Still loading but pretty seamless it seems. It has you d/l the patches to the original games but other than that good so far, just takes a while.

And done. Everything seems to be working, but still have to have cd in drive? Two hours and countless mods and no cd check removal? Bleh.

I just played through most of Baldur's Gate 1 with the EasyTutu mod and it worked flawlessly.  Not a single problem.

I don't know about the Trilogy mod.

The Mods work a lot better when you launch BG2 instead of 1. The launcher gives you the option to start either one so all you need is the ToB expansion DVD in the drive for the whole thing. So a little better and BG looks great! No problems so far.

I just started it about a week ago with EasyTutu, also. I am determined to get through it this time. The widescreen mod is working great, except that 1920x1080 was a wee bit small.

And no CD's required. I've got ShadowKeeper to edit characters if I run into anything too hard. Actually did have to edit Khalid because it crashed anytime I tried to access his inventory. Turns out he had a bastard sword in his shield slot.

pretty ridiculous as many posts as you write on here expecting us to read them, but you can't be bothered to read a few posts in a thread that interests you?  wow, I thought I was lazy!  (actually I know I am, just didn't think people were that much MORE lazy than me)

I was in a hurry yesterday. I read the original post and remembered about the mod. posting thinking it would help. if it had been posted no loss then. Sheesh.

EDIT: And btw you have no idea how bad my eyes are these days as I get on in age. Painful....eh. Reading 2 msg boards is not as easy as it once was.

So it's difficult to read the (fairly short) thread because of your eyes going bad.  Okay.  Not sure an internet forum is going to work out for you since it's mostly text and reading but whatever.

But then you create a new post asking for information that was already contained in the thread you didn't read.  In order to give you that information it would require someone to type it out for you and it would require you reading it.  But you've already said it's difficult to read the posts here and elsewhere so there's a good chance you wouldn't read their response either.

Can you see at all why this might be frustrating for other people?  Why not just man up and apologize ("Sorry guys - that was dumb of me.") instead of the "my eyes are going bad so you need to not criticize me and put up with my random nonsense" maneuver.

What do you mean i asked for info?I phrased it as a question but meant it more as a statement. Sorry that confused you.
And you think this is the only thread on the board? You must be the blind one. I looked through dozens of threads before this one and more after.

What did it hurt you to see my thread and either pass it up or to post it was posted but thanks?

Get over yourself. You're no better than any of us other net users. Got nothing better to do?

You had to read the title of the thread ("Baldur's Gate Trilogy mod, ANYONE?") in order to click on it and post in it, right?  The title didn't give it away?  So yeah, I'm actually feeling quite confused.

I don't know.  I suggest you start a new thread and crosspost it into a couple of forums.  This one's way too big to read already.

It took 4 seconds to find the answer without having to do a search here for a thread that might tell you this if you read it.

Sorry if I bothered anyone. I just thought I remembered something. I wasn't actually looking for it since it was not my thread. Just tried to ad something that helped. Its why I said I hadn't read the thread.

Didn't mean to rile anyone. Good luck with your game playing.

EDIT: Oh and looking up I realize I read post two after all but saw nothing in it to say something about a BG1 in BG2 mod. I didn't click the link.

Anyways sorry.

Dont worry about it, Daehawk, just struck me as strange.

Anyways, I think I'll be getting me this now - I have a hankering for some good, ol' fashion BG gaming, and since my computer is fried, this should work nicely on my GFs laptop :-)

Not riled up or bothered here Dae.  Just wanted to point you to google for those kind of searches much more efficient than using the search engine on GT....no offense Ron!

I have used the mod you are talking about and I couldn't imagine trying to play BG1 without it.  It gets rid of all the little annoying things and cuts down on some of the tedium.

What is a whap and should I feel excited I got one, angry, violated?  Just not familiar with whap.  Whack I get, it just usually cost a little extra to get one...
