Atari has annouced they are releasing Flashback 2.0

Larger image

Couple of things that are really cool.

First: Its real atari 2600 hardware. No emulation.
Second: Real atari 2600 DB9 joysticks and the ability to use all orginal
Third: while much smaller, it looks like an atari 2600

1) is Air/Sea Combat (AKA Target Fun, when it was included with the Sears VCS),

2) is actually Robot Tank by Activision, which is one of my all-time favorite 2600 games,

8) looks like an Activision game, but I don't know which one.

No, it's Battlezone allright... it does look very similar to Robot Tank, but the view of the turret gives it away:

If you're talking about the one on the far right, that's Saboteur.  It was never available as a cartridge, though it did finally see the light of day (officially) as part of the original Flashback.  Supposedly one of the best games for the 2600.  From the same guy that programmed Yar's Revenge (and E.T.  Tongue )

http://www.atariage.com/screenshot_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=816

So we've got:

Millipede
Adventure
Yar's Revenge
Air-Sea Battle
Warlords
Battlezone
Crystal Castles
Breakout
Saboteur

According to Gamasutra, it will also include:

Pong
Asteroids
Centipede
Lunar Lander (Another new game)
Missle Command
Combat

...among others.  Another cool thing is that if you're feeling adventurous, there will be solder points for adding your own cartridge port to play the original carts as well.

Only thing that sucks (IMO) are the hideous orange buttons instead of the chrome switches on the unit.

I seriously doubt it'll be available from Infogrammes (ooops, I mean Atari).  It would probably be something you'd need to track down and install yourself.

It been confirmed that it includes solder points for a cartride port.

Also, there is a flashback 3.0 on the drawing boards. On it there is plans for a USB cord so you can download games right from your computer. Thats next year though.
