So it's just the game, some cards and a metal box?  That doesn't sound too special to me.  I thought there was a version that came with a little statue of Altair or something.

so if this makes it to the US, we'll be asked to pay an extra $10 for a metal tin and four 'art cards?'  i think this is one special edition i'll pass on...

Actually, I think the U.S. version comes with the figure.

no, the kinky side comes out for 'Dominatrixs Creed' (for the Wii!) and 'Call of Domination 4'.

Yeah the full oen comes with a figure. I had it pre-ordered from play asia for like 75.00 many many many many months ago, but cancelled it as I just don't think this game is going to be very good.

It's different from my impressions about bioshock where I just didn't get what was gonna be so good about it- though it's hard to gather such information when you impose a blackout on yourself.   retard

But this game just reeks of superhype and underdelivering and I just have a feeling it's gonna score 7s and low 8s at best.

Or at least a ninja helm that's a perfect size for a cat.

im with metallic on this one - id much rather have a tin case than a figure - though i wont get either collectors edition (i just dont care - i think the only collectors ive ever bought were diablo 2 and halo 2 and thats just because i love those two games)

and honestly as much as i dont think it will happen and REALLY hope it doesnt happen i can totally imagine it happening and wouldnt be surprised if it did.  is it likely? i dont know - but i can definitely see where atbs coming from.  oh dont get me wrong im hyped and im going to be picking it up but i can completely see it MAYBE being no where near the show stopper we thought it would be and just end up an average ol' action game.

And yet we will still fall in line to over-hype the next greatest-besest game ever announced.

Part of the gaming culture I reckon.

In Ontario, and probably other parts of Canada there are die-hard Toronto Maple-Leaf fans(Hockey) Every year it's going to be the year we go all the way to winning Lord Stanley's Cup...

Until we know for sure that they wont, it makes us feel good to believe that...

And so it goes with gaming.

Figure looks a little cheap at first glance.  Think I'll go the standard route on this one.

Now if they included a disc filled with Jade Raymond interviews, that'd be another thing.  Hmm... or maybe a Jade Raymond calendar...  thumbsup icon_wink

Actually, they should include a figure of Jade Raymond with all the marketing she's done on this game.  I've got her voice memorized with all the AC vids I've seen with her talking about this or that.  Of course, you can't blame the company for that, I'd do it too.

Personally, I'm interested in Assassin's Creed *despite* Jade Raymond's involvement.  I don't know how skilled a producer she is, but as a PR spokesperson, she makes Alan Greenspan seem saucy and charismatic.

Some developers turn out games that speak for themselves.  Others speak about their projects so passionately that you can't help but get swept up in their enthusiasm.  Raymond accomplishes something unique: she takes a game that already looks dynamic, polished, and exciting to play, and talks about it in such a dry, mechanical fashion that by the time she's finished, you can't quite remember why it used to look like fun.  I think Ubisoft really made a mistake when they hired her over Buzz Killington.

Not even a underwhelmingly small, cheap-looking figurine can make me buy this one.  Haven't been impressed with gameplay video.
