With all the PSP talk lately, I was wondering how many of you are going to be getting the PSP at launch or sometime soon.

I've got mine preordered! smile

I'll probably get one eventually, but I'm going to wait until it goes down in price and all the kinks are worked out of the first models.  I'm thinking sometime next year.

Ditto,  especially since i got a DS for Christmas which might help me wait.  unless, of course, they came out with an Elder Scrolls game for it, then i'm a goner...

Waiting on reviews/price drop/good deal/improved model here.  When Nippon Ichii releases its game, though, I'll probably grab one.

There's no doubt in my mind, that I will eventually end up with a PSP, but I'm planning on waiting a while before taking the plunge.

Yes, the poll needs another choice:

Probably, once the price drops.

Me too.  Since I didn't (and have no plans to) pre-order I will be waiting a couple months at least.  I am also waiting for the first round of releases to start to drop in price.  Even if this handheld is everything it is hyped to be, I can't justify dropping that much on each new title.  $20 GBA games and the ready supply of the hit titles of yesterday have spoiled me.

So add an option for "I'm getting one, just not right away."

Yeah, right now the SP is more than enough for me, and I barely play that. It would need to become something really special, and actually be affordable for a portable to make me want to own one. Maybe one day.

I don't have a problem with the system itself, but the pricing is all out of whack.  I can't see myself spending that much on the system, and then another $50 a pop on games.

With the Ipod, the price was almost justified because the content was free.  With this, I'm spending the same amount of money for a portable as for a home version.  I just can't imagine doing that, let alone buying one version for home, and another to carry with me.

Already got it and I'd do it again in a second.

As it's looking right now, I'd ditch my PS2 for one of these if given a choice. It's THAT GOOD.

I won't be getting one on launch.  Much like the DS, there's not a single  launch titles I'm interested in.  If a few more RPG's become available I'll probably pick one up.  Especially if the rumored FFVII remake actually happens.

If Sony is smart they'll bankroll that themselves - that is an instant system seller right there.

This is the most excited I have ever been about a new system!

Pretty even split on this looking at the results.  Are the new screenshots that I'm tossing out helping?  I'm just floored by the graphic quality they have been able to pull off on a handheld...

I wanted to tell you, Knightshade, how much I appreciate all the updates on the PSP (and everything else too!! -- I have made CG my new homepage!!) It is exciting to see every new link to screenshots of PSP titles. And you're right, some of the new pics and videos are just blowing me away!!! (My most recent fetish is the stunning work they have done on the THUG 2 conversion -- the graphics in this, along with the staggering amount of sheer content, is so impressive, IMHO   )

I think the PSP looks awesome, but am I going to spend $250 (or around $400 baseline to get from EB or Gamestop...at least online, I would guess B&M would sell just straight $250 item) to own it?  Probably not...especially with new systems coming within the year probably.  I am also very disappointed that they are putting these games at the $40-50 price point, they should drop them about $10...that's just my opinion though.

SP does enough for me. I couldnt pay more then $20 for a game. For the SP I try to stick under $15. I dont really play it mich so it isnt all that difficult, I just picked up advance wars 2 at best buy for $8. Great game, great price!
