Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about 360's backwards compatibility from X05?
I know some people don't care about it and assume others don't as well, but some of us really do...

I don't think MS has released any official list of what games will have it.

And keep this in mind - how exactly are you going to get your save games from the Xbox over to the Xbox 360?

Well, some will move on a memory card, at least, though I know not all will.

I'm hoping most of my xbox games are backward compatible just so I don't need to keep three consoles hooked up for a while. I heard somewhere they have estimated 80% of all games will be; and the more mainstream a title the more likely, for what that's worth.
But I have a feeling once I have two or three games on the 360, the chances of going back aren't going to be that high too.

Not only are the XBox memory cards NOT compatible with the XB360, even if they were it wouldn't matter because 95% of the games on the XBox aren't compatible with the memory card anyway.

Some games simply take more save space than the 8MB card provides, and then there's the 'Dreamcast Syndrome' with some - you simply aren't allowed to copy the save from the HD to the memory card. Yes, I realize that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, but some games have your saves locked to the HD even though they'd fit.

Meh... I'm not far enough into enough games to make save transfers an issue. For the handful that I'd want to not start over, I'll just finish up on the old Xbox.
