Bomberman: Zero comes out this week, "budget priced" at $49.99.  Any interest?  Personally, the dark futurization of the usually light and playful Bomberman seems like a worse idea than the moody Prince of Persia, but if it plays well, I'll get it.  Especially if they manage a decent single player experience.

getting horrible reviews but they all seem to mention it's the same gameplay and the only reason for the bad review is the new artistic style.  I loved me some Bomberman and if it plays the same I'd be interested.  I can't see giving a game a 4 out of 10 solely because you don't like the direction the art went though.

The standard bomberman stuff might play fine in multiplayer under the new crappy graphics.  Personally, however, I'd rather see a conversion of the Saturn version for Xbox Live Arcade.   This way you only pay like 10 bucks, and still is super fun online.

I can't remember which review I read that tore it apart, but the things the struck me were:
  • no local multiplayer
  • no mid-game save

can't remember if that was from OXM or GameInformer.

Bomberman was a party game. Can't be a party game without local multi.

Holy hell... no local multiplayer?  What the hell were they smoking.

One thing that has really pissed me off with the latest crop of games on the 360 is that everyone has ditched or scrapped features for local multiplayer.  They rely too much on live and the local multiplayer features are hurting from it.

These people need to remember that even though online play is fun, consoles are put in the living room for a reason, it lets everyone in the room play on the same TV is the game allows, and that's a big draw.  One of the big reason why games like Halo succeeded was the fact that you had co-op, 4 player split screen adversarial/team play, along with a great online mode.

Yes, poker should totally have local multiplayer!   icon_wink  paranoid

But yes, in general splitscreens are good.  smile
