I don't even play sports games but I signed the petition anyway.  For all the good it will do.  I like competition as it keeps companies fresh and creative.

The petition is here: link

Right now they're just shy of 14,000 signatures.

I signed it, as this is clearly unfair business practice.

There's nothing unfair about the practice. Exclusive liscense agreements happen all the time. Look around you. I don't like this myself but EA and the NFL has every right to do this if they want too.

Ok. perhaps I mispoke Its not UNFAIR. Its just another episode of stifiling the copetition. The reason I dislike it so much is when you have a monopoly it stifles development.

Any Canadians on here? Is there a CFL game? There may be a subset of people out there who really want a game with Andre Rison. Go to it, ESPN!

Math was never my strong suit, but I know a big frickin' number when I see one. smile Something also to consider - this was the NFL seeking to bring exclusivity to the merchandising. EA was just the highest bidder in the process, and more power to them. I may not agree with it, but it was not something they did for illegal reasons.

Also, 14K signitures won't get the NFL to bat an eye lash. If 10 of the NFL owners personally saw their money earned during the 2005-06 season, then and only then would the NFL main office pay attention. slywink

This is EA we're talking about.  They don't care about you, they care about your wallet--and the contents of such.
