Gold watering can is when your town is "perfect" (you can ask Pelly about the "environment" condition) for, I don't remember, a week straight perhaps?

Yep still playing daily.  My brother and I have been cornering the market on white turnips - you definately have a better chance getting a high buy-back price when there's two of you   biggrin

There always seems to be something new just around the corner.
I finally paid Tom Nook off to get a bigger house.  It's much better now!  Of course, I now owe Nook my firstborn to pay off the next house expansion.

I met a Dr. Shrink who analyzed me and I now have the ability to emote shyness!  Such a great game.  smile

Some fun April Fool's Day stuff today biggrin

So I paid off my last loan...OR SO I THOUGHT - there's another one!  And it sucked, because I sold my turnips at 155 the day I paid it off, but oh no, Nook was selling them at 444 the next day!  Almost like the damn racoon was MOCKING me!!

Mark my words Tom Nook, your uppance shall come.

TML and I have been playing the turnip market the last several weeks.  Buying loads of turnips and checking both of our towns for the best sell-off price.

This week was different than normal.

I bought 700,000 Bells worth of turnips for this week.  I believe they were going for 96 per turnip to purchase.

I sold them all - six trips back and forth to TML's town - for 559 bells per turnip tonight.

I'm STACKED with Bells now.  I have around four million bells now.  Now I can finally pay off that LAST loan!

Pretty colors with the trees in this time of year too   biggrin   Flower Fest going on, hopefully I can win that.  I feel bad for doing so, but I have ran across my neighbor's flowers (or picked them up and planted them around my house) so I could win this week.

I started playing this again over the past week after taking about six weeks off (my town was a mess!) but I haven't seen any GT'ers on my list since then. Am I still on any of your AC friends lists and/or have any of you still been connecting to the WFC?

That's great. Thanks! I'll check when I get home from work.

Do many of you folks leave your towns online during the day?

I used to keep my town open all day / visit other people's towns a lot right when AC came out.  Now, though, I have a wireless connection but it's bogged down with security.  So I can't get on Nintendo WiFi at all.

Ack! Sorry! Family kept me offline last night. I was really looking forward to visiting your town again too and checking out the progress smile

I'll try again tonight. If it's open great! If not, that's my loss.

Internet was out earlier, so I couldn't get my town up.  It is up now, though.

Also, did anyone get a present from Nintendo for Easter?  I had heard there was one, but I didn't get it for some reason.

I haven't received any gifts yet but I'm still hoping for one.

Was finally able to visit your town last night, DJ. Thanks! I brought some fruit with me but you had everything else already so I left a peach and a coconut at your sleeping feet (which I later ran across in town anyway... I'll be more creative next time). Peanut seems to be a friendly neighbor but you can keep those two cats though slywink

Back to your earlier question about Eater gifts. I have seen a couple posts online about a Top Hat gift for this holiday. If that's the case then I did receive that. It arrived in a letter from Mortimer last week but I honestly don't remember the letter hinting at it being a holiday gift.

Arise, thread!

I played another six hours over this weekend and, while I didn't see any other towns on my friends list, I got a LOT done around my own city. Lots of landscaping that I've been wanting to do (moving orchards, planting different flower beds, etc),  community building (my new set of residents are a tough crowd), and fishing. The bug traffic is picking up too. Looking at my AC:WW guide shows that a bunch of new fish and bugs are due to arrive starting next month many of which we've never seen in the DS version given it wasn't released last Summer.

How do you all approach your landscaping duties? Do you as little as possible (weeds, some fruit trees) to keep the community happy or do you really get into it (planting new flower beds, different orchards, and the like)?

you'd think after 6+ months, you'd've seen it all:

a) ever remain standing right where redd's tent will be when it appears (0600)?
b) ever chat with a character who's been enchanted (doesn't always happen, but only ever happens when there's a weird little chimey riff tacked onto the late night / early morning music themes)?

my admiration of this game only continues to grow...

I tried growing a really organized evergreen forest, but the damn tree's just stopped growing.  My copy was borked, though, I couldn't order anything from the catalog, either.

I also made a flower path from my house to my favorite resident, Melba's, house.  Then she moved.  And I seriously felt really sad.  She was the last of my original residents

ARISE!

LIVE!

Some of us Fathers just got this game for F-day.    Let's get some discussions going on in here!

I'll get my friend code ready tonight and post it in the friends thread.   I'll also add anyone that either has their gates open or is playing.

Curious -- did anyone leave their gates open during a long period of not playing?

I shudder to think what my town looks like after not touching it for 6 months....

What the heck, I'll fire it up a sec.

Edit:

Awesome.  I had $100K+ of spoiled turnups in my inventory and my house, and there are bugs and weeds everywhere.  Maybe I should bulldoze my town...

for the first time (in more than 7 months), little crying-her-eyes-out katie showed up this morning, so i took her over to my wife's town (where she'd appeared once quite a while back) for the cheerful/tearful reunion with mom - awww!...

lots of bugs (tarantulas!), & some new fish, at this point. &, yes, i won the bug-out on sunday with a 256mm birdwing butterfly (beat that!)...

Just a reminder, be sure to post your Friends codes in the mutliplayer forum WiFi thread.

Since the list for animal crossing is actually longer than the max # of friends you can have in the game, I'll probably make an attempt to weed out the inactive players at some point to make room.

Anyone still playing this from time to time, please add me to your friends list and let me know here so I can look yours up and add you.   As it is right now I don't have any friends on my list I can actually visit.
