Still loving it here as well...may sound retarded, but I'm trying to turn my whole left side of my town into an evergreen forest.  It's turned out a little harder than I thought it was going to be.

BTW, I love Melba.

I don't know why but almost all evergreen tree sapling died.frown I managed to fill up my town with apples tree with only a few unsuccessful ones(probably because I accidentally step on them), but hardly any evergreen tree grow.

I've got a couple lines of them...I'm trying to make an organized forest.  I'd say they grow about 2/3rds of the time.

Cool!

I also need to finish registering the latest people from the friends thread in the MP forum after cleaning out my registry (been a busy week so I didn't get to follow up on that) so that I can join the more active community.  smile

I`ve read most of this over the last month or so and I can`t remember if I`ve come across the answers... Random question # 1 and so on...
Where do I plant a coconut? I planted it on the beach, but it doesn`t have enough room...Does anything grow on the beach? Can I plant coconuts just where I`d plant any other tree?

my coastline is coconut city, just back from the beach sand, tho i've had a few failures. especially watch for signs, which i finally realized indicate possible new neighbor house locations...

Finally have access to wireless internet, so I have my gates open to my town.  Come and grab some fruit or whatnot!  I'll try to be around!  And I'll try to keep the gates open until later tonight

Okay, I give up, I've tried and tried, and I can't seem to read all 13 pages of this thread, but I have read 1, 2... 12, and 13!

Quote
So I visited Tibby's town - nice touch with the labels on all of the fruit trees
OMG that's a great idea - especially when you're trying to form your orchards... I've been leaving a single piece of fruit next to each tree - which is a waste when you're trying to get that orchard going!

Tibby, I can't remember how to do it though - are you posting signs like in the GC version -  was it something through "the Sisters," or something else?

Going to get my code now and will post it soon...  Cool

I ought to start playing this again. I played so much then one day stopped and haven't looked back.
My town is probably a huge mess.

I'm still loving this game and I play it on a fairly regular basis, but I can't seem to find any other towns anymore. Are you guys still actively playing online?

I'm not Tibby, but I know how she marked her trees. She created a mat in the Sister's place and drops that in front of her trees.

It's been awhile since I've been back to my town too.  I stopped in for a quick visit a couple days ago only to find my home infested with roaches.  Ick.
I've been getting sidetracked with other non-game stuff, but I'll try to have my gates open more often.

Thanks, Toger!  And welcome to GT - you're gonna love it here!

I don't think I've even been in the Sisters' house more than once, since I really sucked at designs in the GC game, but mats sound easier, lol.

A person, totally forget their name, comes around Sunday mornings to sell you turnips.  You'll catch him walking around in your town.

The red turnips are fantastic - plant them anywhere, water them daily and sell them to Tom Nook on Saturdays for some MAD PROFIT!

"Him" the turnip seller, lol - is named "Joan"  Tongue   She's gone by noon, which totally made me crazy this past Sunday until I realized that she's only there in the morning.  I can't seem to remember the word turnip, either, so  I alternate between calling them yams and rutabagas.   I always buy "yams" from her, unless they're really high priced, cz there's almost always a day that Tom will give you more for them.  I tried the red turnip thing, but didn't know what to do with them other than grow them, so now I can't wait until Sunday - again.

And I missed K. K. Slider on Saturday - I can't stand this no memory thing - you know, when it interferes with important stuff like gaming!

Lately she has been telling me the back story of Tom Nook.  Intruiging stuff.  One thing I can't figure out is the deal with the coffee.  There has to be something to the whol eletting it cool thing.  I feel like I have progressed with the pigeon, but then I feel like I go backwards with him and I am pretty sure it must tie into coffee and whether you let it cool and how much.

I'm most definitely still playing and very much enjoying the online aspects. If some of the folks who are newer to the game or looking to expand your friends list  would add me, you can know that my town is usually online between 5 and 10 PST. That's also the time I'm looking to visit other towns.

I thought I'd talked the Sable sister into an infinite loop--I'll have to go back and see if she'll tell me about Tom Nook.

I tend to forget these things too.  Then there's birthdays and other appointments to remember.  The townsfolk tend to get a little irate when they have to remind me after the fact.

I lost my longtime resident Hopper and found a new resident, Lucy from Bozeman.  I hope she's not a troublemaker.
Anyone know if there's any criteria for making residents stay or is it random timing that they move in and out?

If you can catch themwhile they are just packed up to move you can talk to them and beg them to stay and they have in my experience.  However, if you don't talk to them for a bit and you get mail saying they left, it is obviously too late.

So today I was making the rounds around town (I just got the "best" upgrade for your house so now my house has a chimney!) and went into the Able Sister's place.

I saw a crown for sale.  Was like, "Hey, that's pretty cool."  Checked to see how much it was selling for:

1,200,000 Bells.

WHAT THE HECK?!  That's insane!

Okay, what the hell, Tom Nook keeps telling me his catalog is backordered.  This is the 3rd or 4th day in a row!  I use that feature a lot because I like new sets in my place every one in awhile; but seriously, let me order something you damn racoon!
