The next Game Informer will have 3 game reveals - Aliens : Colonial Marines from Gearbox, Red Faction : Guerilla from Volition, and Champions Online, from the developers of City of Heroes/Villains.  Aliens and Champions are for PC and console, and while it doesn't give a platform for Red Faction, I'd assume it's also PC and console.

From Game Informer,

we have the first look at Cryptic Studios’ latest superhero MMO, Champions Online. The City of Heroes developers are taking on PCs and consoles, too, letting us all unleash our inner heroes—or villains.

But not on a console. And not with the Champions ruleset.

Squad based shooter eh?  Guess that means we'll have co-op considering Gearbox's other project, Borderlands, is so co-op centric.  I can imagine us on voice chat wandering down a dark alien infested corridor, one man with the motion sensor reading off blip locations in meters.

I think it's time for a new superhero MMO, considering how things have changed in the MMO industry there's a lot of different ideas they could explore with a fresh start that they could do with CoH.

I'm so in for an Aliens title.  From Gearbox?  Even better.

They're certainly working on it.  I'm applying for some positions at Obsidian that'll be working on the game.

Point based character creation FTW! I do wonder how they'll handle disadvantages in the MMORPG though. Knowing most power gamers, they'll be highly abused.

i was as excited as a "starshifter after kotor3 news" to hear about the aliens game.  damn time we get some real co-op squad action ala aliens online (gods, has it been that long?)

i so want a revival of AO's gameplay for mp games.  damn that was good fun.
