WiiU actually had a shockingly good upswing last week.  In one week they apparently doubled the amount of units sold since launch.  Amazing what happens when you actually release games on a new console.  icon_wink

well, although the game was reportedly dogshit,i never like hearing these stories

A:CM devs TimeGate Studios lay off entire staff

Quote
Section 8 and Aliens: Colonial Marines developer TimeGate Studios has laid off its entire staff, according to a report.

While i am sure Aliens didn't do them any favours,it seems its more connected to another legal battle

Quote
One source claims that the studio has suffered a critical blow in its legal battle against SouthPeak Interactive, who the source says has been granted its request for a bankruptcy judge to convert TimeGate's Chapter 11 case to a liquidation proceeding under Chapter 7, signaling the end of the developer.

The company faced paying $7.35 million in damages and losing the Section 8 license after defeat in its legal clash with SouthPeak.

TimeGate sued the publisher in 2009 when it claimed SouthPeak had withheld royalties and failed to produce localized versions of Section 8 as allegedly agreed. A countersuit from SouthPeak alleged, among other things, that TimeGate hadn't invested enough of its own capital onto the game.

Section 8 wasn't bad, but we already had Tribes as a F2P shooter by the time they shoved it out the door.  I got to play with the guys from Timegate once - it was a pretty great experience.  I hate to see a company go out of business, especially one that brought us the awesome Kohan series as well as F.E.A.R.

Timegate did not make F.E.A.R., only the expansions which were non-canon and not that great (I just played them in the last year).
