From Remedy, the guys that made Max Payne, comes a new psychological action thriller .

I can't believe that after all this time they only release a cinematic trailer.  Sheesh.

It looks fine but I don't see anything which really blew me away.  It looks like Indigo Prophecy.

Besides looks why am I supposed to be interested?

I've been interested in it since it was first announced. I get a fun creepy scary vibe from it where you can't be sure what is reality and what isn't. That said, it would be nice if Remedy moved faster than a glacier.

Because the original Max Payne by the same studio was awesome. In fact I'm playing it again amongst a number of next gen titles and despite being 7 years old it still stands up well. Alan Wake looks to have some of the same excellent elements, but with more of a horror theme.

And the moral of the story is this: Always use Preview when you make a post with links, then test each link to see that they work. It only takes you 30 seconds.

Clicky

Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience "Alan Wake" was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive. Both Microsoft and Remedy have long histories in PC game development. This decision was about matching this specific game to the right platform.

That's the biggest load of bullshit I've ever read. Oh well. Thank you for saving me the displeasure of playing your game, I guess.

That's indeed some major bullshit. "Most compelling experience" my ass! Microsoft is realizing that their near-monopoly on hardcore console gamers is slipping recently and is trying desperately to pull back the market with a major exclusive. No way am I getting a 360 for this.

That's too bad.  I'll still be getting the game on the 360, but I would've preferred it on the PC.  I've realized lately that I just don't enjoy anything with shooter-type controls as much with a controller as I do with a mouse, so I've been doing all that type of games on the PC.

Of course, the irony is that I've been playing all my 360 games on my PC monitor lately.  This just means that I'll be playing Alan Wake at my desk with a controller, black bars at the top and bottom of the screen, and with lower screen and texture resolution than if I had it on the PC.

I'll be getting the 360 version then.  I'm annoyed, but as long as I can play it I'll live.
