All I am saying is that if she makes fun of online Halo teabaggers and people who love Final Fantasy and Nartuo on Xplay, why can't she make fun of them on Tyra?

For the same reason it's okay to roast your boss at the company holiday party, but not at the company staff meeting: sometimes the difference between "joking around" and "undermining credibility" is all in your choice of venue.

Morgan was presumably invited to appear on Tyra to explain gaming to people outside the hobby.  If you consider the woman on stage as a baseline, the audience is largely unfamiliar with videogames, and perhaps even irritated by or condescending towards people who enjoy them.  Is *that* really the appropriate venue for Morgan to start waxing psychological about the worst sort of lonely, angry, pitiable gamer?

Watching that YouTube clip, what do you think are the odds that anyone seeing it would come away with a superior understanding of why their boyfriend likes playing games?

-Autistic Angel

You know, I think the person we should be blaming is the boyfriend.  What guy in his right mind goes on a show like Tyra with his girlfriend and doesn't know he's going to be hung out to dry?  Which leads me to believe the whole thing was a setup, similar to all the crap you see on Jerry Springer.

There was no chair-swinging. I was disappointed.

I think the entire reason some are offended is that there is a tone to the show that says "Here we are pretending to care why he likes video games, but ultimately don't care and would rather say 'slow down on the games' as a resolution, rather than address the fact that your girlfriend is boring you cuz she won't tongue her friend in front of you."

Oh, and FTR, I'd hit it with Tyra, Morgan or the Girlfriend. Hell, all three. Then I'd pop in some RSV2 and tell you all about it. biggrin

Someone could also describe sports fans as a bunch of loud, body-painting, beer-swilling yahoos who obsess about every record, every trade, every play because they're desperately pretending that their fanatical devotion has some impact on the outcome of the season.

That would be gellar every year when Madden is released.

Body paint?  Bitch please.

Going a little bit off-topic here but have you guys watched G4 recently? They have a semi-hot chick in every segment. Olivia is pretty hot but my god is she a bad host... That skinny dude she hosts with is hilarious though.

Kevin Pereira is an absolute riot.  The other girl you're thinking of, I think, is Layla Keighley

Nope, the girl I was talking about is named Olivia. I'm too lazy to find a pic and host it on imageshack and link it here, I'll leave that up to you slywink

I've always had a thing for Layla.  I think it's the accent.

She's easy on the eyes but seems dumb as bricks.

Yep, thats Olivia. I really like her skin tone on the show, but she does seem stupid as fuck. The pay has to be pretty shitty because most of the hosts just aren't good speakers.

I remember when G4 / TechTV had hosts like Sarah Lane, Laura Foy, and Tina Wood -- women who were not only pretty, but who were genuinely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their jobs.  Today, between Olivia Munn, Layla Keighley, and *awful* Kristin Holt, it seems like a hosting job requires little more than a bikini-ready body and the ability read a teleprompter fone-et-i-clee.

Anyway, here are a couple more of my favorite Adam Sessler moments:

Drill Dozer Review - NSFW

Lost...In Blue

Wing Island - I don't even know why, but this one always makes me laugh.

On the X-Play Boards

And the infamous "shirt are so ugly" exchange -- also NSFW, and you have to fast forward to 8:33 before you reach the relevant clip.  It's the only surviving one I can find. icon_frown
