And no, I'm not kidding.

(skip ahead to 4:15 if you don't want to see the annoying host talk about other stuff)

Not exactly too impressive looking. But it does prove that it exists. Finally.

EDIT: Engrish is hard.

Looks very similar to Prey graphic but better.

Answered my own question.  Here it is without all the other crap:

Looks like Halflife to me-and not the new Halflife.

I care, I would love for this to turn out good. Duke Nukem 3D was one of my favorite games of all time.

This looks like something I've seen before, like in Duke 3d? Where's the innovation?

Tough to say if it looks good or not. There was nothing from that footage that had me going "Oh wow!" or "what is this crap!?" as there wasn't anything shown that I hadn't seen before in other FPS. But from what I saw it reminded me a bit of Prey, which isn't a bad thing.

It certainly was nice seeing those classic weapons in use again.

You know there is a huge exploit going around based on older flash players.  It is hijacking legit sites and installing a keylogger on browsers with out-of-date flash installed.  It could get through even if you have noscript installed if you have whitelisted a compromised site in the past.

A few choice quotes from George B from their forums.  It sounds as if he's saying that footage is about 6 months old.

You know, when this game finally hits the streets I hope that they have a book about the development of it.  I am curious as hell how things could really still be so much in flux at this point.

The game should have been done 8 years ago and DN 7 should be out soon.

chances are they've switched to a new engine in that time.

Is that Geoff Keighly guy still doing those post-mortems? Those were really great reading, and DNF would be ideal subject matter for him to cover.

Every time I hear something new about DNF, I think the same thing. I want to read a book about everything. Honestly, I personally think a book would more sell copies than the game if it were written well and marketed properly. That doesn't mean the book would make more money necessarily. I mean, Mass Market Paperbacks are like $6 each. But either way, I'd hope it's something they'd consider doing.

I read on (I think Shacknews) that they were trying to create a completely destructible terrain and failing horribly for a long time. That was just part of it of course. That isn't to say that there weren't the engine changes and such we all know about also.
