That looks pretty awesome. Totally embracing their b-movie roots, plus the Wii is inherently good for lightgun games. If it's cheap, might be worth picking up for drunken parties.

That almost makes me want to buy a Wii (and make it the console trifecta). I don't like the circle on the screen, though. If you're going to make it point and shoot, you shouldn't need it.

The problem with using the wiimote itself to aim is that unless you're using it with a pistol add-on thing, your hand is wrapped around it, making sighting down it just about impossible. Besides, a lot of lightgun games in the arcade have an aiming circle on screen, especially the ones that simulate shooting a gun from the hip.

Time will tell. If there were a way to turn it off while using the gun, I'd love it. But again, I'd have to buy a Wii and that's not likely, so I guess my minor quibbles are in vain. Oh, and Wiki says: Also, a new feature called Battle Screen will add challenge to the game. It will expand the camera beyond the screen, forcing players to move their point of view. The game will also once again feature two player co-operative play. Now if they'll just get around to implementing head-tracking, I'd be all over it.

That's practically the only thing the Wii is good for in my eyes - it gives absolute PERFECT control for a lightgun game. Oh, and FPS games too (but nobody seems to be trying to take advantage of that point). As far as the trailer goes - ROFL.

The current Game Informer has an ad for it that's pretty funny. The Most Horrifying Game of the Decade! A Cop with an Attitude! A Mysterious Agent! A Stripper with Two Deadly Weapons!

House of the Dead is my favorite lightgun game series. I still play 2&3 on Wii every now and then.

If it's at all like it's predecessor -House of the Dead 2&3- you can turn the aiming reticule off. I turn it off when playing solo, but I find it helps to keep it on when playing co-op since the other players reticule is a different color. The existing game is one of the most underrated on the Wii IMO, especially HoD 3. Overkill is definitely 1 of my more anticipated games this year.

And only a year later as it has dropped in price.....
This is the most fun game I have played on the Wii in a long time. The 1970s film feel is great. "Papa's Palace of Pain" - be a courteous guest.

The game was definitely entertaining while it lasted. I found it to be a bit too easy and short, but it's definitely worth a rental if you like light gun games. The storyline is so over the top and campy that it is actually good.

Much to my disappointment I can no longer play this game since I moved my Wii into our den. The game requires your wiimote be a decent distance from the screen in order to calibrate. Unfortunately, in my den there's no way to achieve that distance no matter where I position my HDTV. Not all's lost though; just means I have to wait till my bi-weekly LAN meets to get in some zombie shooting goodness. Fortunately the games so damn campy that a couple of hours every 2 weeks is about all I can take anyways.
