My gaming radar doesn't have the wide-angle view back yet, so my wanna-get games are somewhat limited.  Some of the games people mentioned I haven't even heard of, lol. Bad gamer, bad gamer! icon_cry

I haven't a clue about other systems, but for now, on the 360:

Fable 2 is featured in this month's XBox magazine.  Although I know that you can't trust anything Peter M. says... it will still be a first day buy for me.  Fable 1 was good enough to ensure that.

Silent Hill: Homecoming will depend on reviews - and if I'm in that good old zombie mood when it arrives.   icon_twisted

nice Myto, they're are two titles i am getting on day one as well.....give me a shout when you get Fable 2(or more likely i'll give you a shout when I get Fable 2..UK/PAL are always later)...lots of Co-op goodness!!!!

and i must get back to Fable 1,i bought it as a xbox original title and havent played it again yet(completed it when it first came out though)

I usually wait until the I can get some feed back from others about games but I'm pretty sure Persona 4 will be a quick grab for me. Probably going to be the final game I get for my PS2.  icon_cry

You: Ummm, the Super Treasure room, you were right behind me.
Me:  Where's that?
You: The room with the Super Treasure, we've been there 12 times already.

You: Don't move, I'll come get you.

I was eyeing that one today as well.  I really enjoyed playing a goody two-shoes the first time, but never went back to try an evil bastard.  I've got Thurs-Friday off this week, maybe I'll give it another shot then.

Gratch-the xbox original Fable isnt Fable the lost chapters(which pissed me off),its just the first version -I have never played the lost chapters not sure what extra stuff it contains,so maybe a pre-owned version of Fable:LC would be better..should be dirt cheap now,and definetly cheaper than the xbox original price -1200 points

Hmm... I've definitely slowed my game purchasing down lately, but let's see:

360:
Rock Band 2 - Disc Only
Guitar Hero World Tour - Disc Only

PS3:
R&C Quest for BOOTY
NHL 2009
Resistance 2
FIFA 2009
Little Big Planet
SOCOM

PC:
Fallout 3

Those are the only definites I can think of.  I'll probably buy another handful based on general buzz.

OK, now that I've figured out the stuff I'm definitely getting, my total for the holiday season will be....

<drumroll>

$930.00, give or take.

<insert squeal of a wallet being violated>

Unfortunately, that doesn't include Rock Band 2 or any impulse buys.

Much like I said last year/early this year, I think 2008 pales greatly in comparison to 2007. Off the top of my head I liked Metroid: Corruption, Mario Galaxy (still need to finish it), Assassin's Creed, and Mass Effect way more than anything that I have played this year so far, including (the great) GTA4.

As for the rest of the year, Nintendo is seemingly releasing nothing, so the Wii will likely only get Animal Crossing and MySims played on it by the wife. For the DS, I will definitely want Chrono Trigger which I have never played. For the 360, I think my most anticipated game may well be Dead Space, which I hadn't even heard of 3 months ago.

I hope 2009 is more like 2007.

I can see IU, Fable II, Fallout3, Gears of War 2 (1 never had me pumped, but I loved it because I didn't get sucked into the hype current) making their way into my collection.

Yeah, I'm still looking at about 12 games that I want before the end of the year.  That's probably around $700, which just seems like craziness.

first day or close enough
Fallout 3 - my most anticipated game of '08 left
Fable 2 - moved up from the maybe list.  'nuff said
Mercenaries 2 - 1/3rd of the first big reason i bought a 360.  let's hope it earns the silver medal behind gta4
Far Cry 2 - wide open world in africa.  something unique and it looks great
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky - loved the first, this is a great way to revisit the game world
Aliens: Colonial Marines - this one came out of nowhere and granted a wish i have had since aliens online and only briefly glimpsed in the avp games.

interested in, but wait for reviews/sales
Ghostbusters - very likely to get bumped up.
Batman: Arkham Asylum - if it releases this year, that is.
Rock Band 2 - while i love rb, i am not that great at it.
Saints Row 2 - looks like a great take on the sandbox genre, but i think mercs 2 will be a better fit for now.
Force Unleashed - very much looking forward to the demo on this to make my final judgment.
Infinite Undiscovery - looks/sounds good, but i have vowed to finish lost odyssey before picking up another jrpg to sit on the shelf.
Resistance 2 - still have R1 to finish up.
Gears of War 2 - while i will miss the mp launch goodness, i never really dug the first one.
Dead Space - feels like bioshock in space, but i think i will end up waiting a bit on it.
Spore - beware of the hype.  i am holding my self back from this for a bit.
Shaun White Snowboarding - one of the few wii games i am actually looking forward to.
Tomb Raider: Underworld - loved TR legend, but this one gets bumped back to next year for me.
yakuza 2 - need to find/play yak 1, but this sounds pretty cool
persona 4 - it would be stupid to get this as i still haven't unwrapped p3:fes, but you never know.
Mirror's Edge - not sure how much fun this is just yet.
Colonization - another sid production, but i never seem to get enough playtime with the pc these days and have barely touched civ 4 bts
The Last Remnant - see note about jrpg and lost odyssey.
Sacred 2 - could be a great thing until d3 comes, but there's been very little news about it, so i am a little wary.

only ~350, so much less than last year around this time.  but there's a lot of maybe's to consider.
a tough year to be sure.

Heh. I'm trying to budget for the rest of the year, so this is fresh on my mind:

Definite Buys:
Disgaea 3
Spore
Rock Band 2
Sims Apartment Life (cough)
Colonization
Rhapsody DS
Lego Batman
Fallout 3
GH World Tour
WoW- Lich King
Valkyria Chronicles
Chrono Trigger
Persona 4

With Probables:
Fable 2
Infinite Undiscovery
Tales of Vesperia
Zoids
DQ IV
Warhammer MMORPG
Star Ocean PSP
Eternal Poison
Luminous Arc 2
Last Remnant
Lips
Starcraft II

So, about $650 in confirmed buys, and another $550 or so in probables, with who knows how much in "stuff that comes out of nowhere" buys.

I'll get these when I get them through the trading forum or when they drop to the $40 pricepoint:

Fable 2
Mercenaries 2
Star Wars Force Unleashed
Fallout 3

Quit buying 360 games if multiplatform, so, only getting Gears 2 for that system.

For PS3 will definitely get SW Force Unleashed and Fallout 3.

That is all unless some games out now drop to that magical of all prices, $19.99, then I may grab some of those.  I have picked up 6 in the last 2 weeks that have done that.  Keep em coming.

Decided to plan it out a bit or else I'd go broke.  Seriously.  This Fall/Winter is insane.  My updated list:

BUY BUY BUY:
09/09/2008 NHL 2009  $60
09/09/2008 Yakuza 2  $30
09/23/2008 My Japanese Coach  $30
10/07/2008 NBA 2k9/NBA Live 2009  $60
10/07/2008 MotorStorm: Pacific Rift  $60
10/14/2008 FIFA 09  $60
10/21/2008 LittleBigPlanet  $60
11/04/2008 Resistance 2  $60
11/11/2008 Valkyria Chronicles  $60
11/11/2008 Mirrors Edge  $60

Maybe:
10/14/2008 Socom: Confrontation  $40 (most likely no)
10/21/2008 Far Cry 2  $60 (maaaaaybe, hated the original)
10/28/2008 Fallout 3  $60 (seriously, probably)

Wait:
10/19/2008 Rock Band 2  $60 (will wait till Xmas)
10/21/2008 Bioshock  $60 (will wait for price drop)
10/26/2008 Guitar Hero 4  $60 (will wait till Xmas)

List excludes possible PSOne games and PSN titles (which may include The Last Guy, WipEout HD, and others)
