I just got a 360 during the 5 minutes it was available on Amazon this week (and I'd say "Woohoo," but it caused all kinds of stress in my house - we worked it out, though).  I really wanted the option for an optical cable or at least digital for the sound (I had that for my old Xbox).  As of right now, I've removed the Gamecube sound to get it to work, but I don't want to live with that.  Is there a cable available somewhere that I haven't seen?

There is an optical jack on the cables themselves (at least there is if you have the Premium system, no idea bout the Core cables).

The HD cable has an optical audio port on the piece that plugs into the back of the 360. I guess you can use the HD cable for non-HD to get that option if it isn't on the normal cable.

Actually, I have HD, so no worries there.  I guess I didn't see the optical slot.  I'll take a look tonight (got to see if I have a cable, I guess...)

The optical slot is on the 360 end of the cord, in the assembly that the HD/Standard switch is on.
